BRB - Be Right Back
AFK - Away From Keyboard

See a pattern here?

Well... WHAT THE HELL IS "W00T"????

The Urban Dictionary defines this as an expression of joy and excitement.

How the HELL did they come up with this? Nobody can give me an answer. All of the other computer-shorthand makes some sence and is easy to figure out.

Does anyone know how the hell a "W", 2 Zero's, and a freaking "T" mean ANYTHING?

Help me! Please! This is driving me insane! Nobody can tell me! Im out of places to ask! It is really pissin me off!

Audiogon really is the ultimate pool of knowledge! Damn near everyone here is well educated... well.. some more than others, but that is besides the point! Can ANYONE here answer this riddle for me? Or will the Audiogon community actually get STUMPED on something????

Shventus, my God, is that from a book, or do you have a lot of time on your hands ? (DYHALOTOYH)
My nephew loves using WTFH.

I personally invented a slew of acronyms based on Chinese lingos but using Latin alphabets used when chatting with my Chinese friends on AIM while studying.

NGM=Ni Gan Ma=What are you doing?
XLB=Xiao Lon Bao=Some Chinese dish
ZZM=Zah Zian Mien=Some Chinese noodle

I get hungry when studying late at night...

Also, I invented some acronyms for my common responses to stupid questions or observations.

PBWTWB=People Believe What They Want To Believe
TAWYJSTAG=Think About What You Just Said Then Ask Again
After an extensive search (well, I asked a friend of mine) it seems that w00t is indeed a expression of joy, and is based on a funny sound old computers made when starting up and finding some hardware error. Hmmm.... what's so funny about that? I just replaced my harddisk a couple of weeks ago, and I can't remember smiling during the process. Oh well...... JM2C.
