What kind of music did you/will you get married to

I've never seen a post like this one, so I thought I'd pose the question. What kind of music did you have played at your wedding? And did it have any carryover effect into the marriage? ;o) Like the blues fer intstance...

If you're not married, what kind of music would you like to have played?

As for me, I like to tell people we had them play Baroque music. Because after paying for the wedding ourselves, we were "ba-roke".

Try to keep it light hearted and fun.

We had a killer band. In addition to great dance music, they played some love songs. David Murray's "Ming", Abdullah Ibrahim's "Ntyllo, Ntyllo", McCoy Tyner's "You Taught My Heart to Sing". Beautiful.
Some of these are hilarious!...8-)

We took a copy of Eva Cassidy's Songbird and used "Over the Rainbow"..Nice stuff!
We had a harpist accomanied by a flutist play for our outdoor wedding. They played background before the wedding and then left after the ceremony.

Then we had a Latin Rock group play for the reception which was really good as the music was enjoyed by all.

For the 'First Dance" I had planned for them to play Louis Armstrong's "Oh, What A Wonderful World" with my Wife's Father beginning the dance and then with me finishing it with her, after the ceremonial 'handoff'. Her Father declared he doesn't dance so my lesson was to just do the dance with her and to forget about his problems.

A lesson that has served us well over the years.
har, odd thread...

my bride snuck off to a 'recording studio' before we did the deed and recorded herself singing Allison Krauss' 'When you say nothing at all'. She then had it played for our first dance ...

...and she's been talking non-stop ever since!
We exchanged vows to "The Cider House Rules" soundtrack in a simple service at our home in the woods. Six friends, three dogs, the preacher and his wife attended.

Proceded to rock the house with gospel music and blues.
