Electrostatic Speakers
You might try posing your problems at diyaudio.com under the planers and exotics forum.  There are several very experienced Quad wizards there who may have some helpful suggestions for you.  Good Luck!BTW, my dream system of the sixties would have...
Dac+Amp recommendation for streaming-only system
You may also want to consider the Auralic Polaris DAC,preamp, amp, and streamer one box solution.  I've owned their Altair DAC,preamp, streamer for about six months now and I'm very pleased with its performance.  Very easy to use and setup.
Sadly missed manufacturers
Stephens Trusonic speakers.  Back in the fifties and sixties they were known as the poor man's JBL.  Well made and good sounding.Another nod to Rudy Bozak.  Classic smooth 'east coast' sounding speakers with a wonderful midrange.  One of my all ti...
Best standalone music server?
The Sony Haps are great units, but only stream Spotify as far as I know.  Future services maybe in the works.  You might look into the Auralic Altair.  It's a DAC streamer and if you add an internal HDD or SDD it becomes a very versatile server.  ...

Don't know how much this will help you since most of my gear is of fairly old vintage. I have a SS Mark Levinson ML-1 preamp controlling a rebuilt Mac 240 tube amp driving a pair of mid seventies Klipschorns. The sound is very clean and dynamic an...
Stephens Trusonic Speakers
Stephens Trusonic was my first purchase of audiophile speakers, nearly fifty years ago. They were popular in the fifties and sixties, of excellent quality and very well regarded; similar to JBL but not quite as expensive. Mine were the 8 inch vers...
Speaker Set-Up: Use of a Plumb Bob
I have mine gimbal mounted with built in gyro's.
Good mid-priced speakers for vintage Mac?
Macs and Bozaks were a very popular pairing in the fifties and sixties. They would often use each other's equipment to demo their products. With the Mac30 there is a good chance that your father's Bozaks were the model B302A/Concerto V. They came ...
