Tara labs The One pc-
I have one on my Threshold T-200 amp, and one on my TARA Labs Power Screen AD-10B going into the wall. The rest of the PC's are TARA Labs Decade, on all of my sources. The people at TARA Labs will probably tell you to put the best Cables on the so...
Current production "budget" warm/dark SS amp?
Out of production, Conrad Johnson MF2250 would be my first choice. The "A" version will be a little more expensive, but still under $1500.00, and are easy to find. The MF2250 also has two bigger brothers for consideration. The ARC is one fine amp.....

PASS LABS XA-30.5 vs XA-60.5
If you want the full benefit of a fully balanced system, then your source should also be a fully balanced design component.. I would think.
Remember the Electric Light Orchestra
They were both excellent British bands. I was into to both at the time so it was a real treat. At that time ELO was not at their mainstream super star status.. I liked them better before they went mainstream.
Remember the Electric Light Orchestra
Saw them open for Wishbone Ash, around '73 or '74. Tampa, Fl
Opinions on Benz Gullwing SLR
I haven't auditioned or own a Gullwing, but combined with the Basis/Vector sounds like a match made in heaven! I'm looking to upgrade my ACE on my Basis/Vector, with an Ebony H. Basis/Vector with Benz, rule! ..IMO, anyway.
RB300 Rewire or Graham Robin for my Gyrodec ?
I've been through this same thing. The Rega's and the Robin are both fine tone arms, but IMHO, the cost of the improvements in rewiring the Rega is not worth the final results - and the Robin is just another Rega.. they are stepping stones for you...
Vinyl records
Thanks for your insight, Jaybo, Mapman, and Dougdeacon.. That's all I need to know.
Is the Basis 2001 a solid enough table to keep.
Have you thought about a complete Basis setup with their Vector arm? Their TT's are designed to be easily upgradeable. Check out their website - basis audio dot com.
Vinyl pops and clicks: Can they be eliminated??
Hello Sunnyjim, I hope you're doing much better then you were in Sept '08... Your priorities are definitely in order, BTW. Anyway, my experience is: I have about 2 or 3 thousand Lp's, since the late '60's... played them all on a very nice '70's tu...

Phono cartridge for classic rock
Not sure how much gain your phone pre has, but the Sumiko Black Bird would be a great choice, and would also put out some great bass for any type of rock music - but if you're phono pre isn't on the warm side, the Black Bird might give you that co...
Theta Jade Tranport with Musical Fidelity X-DAC
Never heard the MF X-DAC, but I do have the Theta Jade. I've had three different DAC's from the late 90's with the Jade, and to my ears it sounds best with a DAC that leans toward the warm side rather then the bright, glary and analytical. Make su...
who wants tone controls on your next preamp?
To drunk to read what's been posted, but if you want tone or EQ, just get an out board pro unit.
