I know a place where you can advertise your speakers.

Have you considered therapy?
Simple Biamp question
Give it a try. Vertical biamping should give you a big effortless sound.
Jeff Rowland 2 or Classe 25 for Avalon Eclipse
Guidocorona, I owned the Model 2 and a close friend owned the Model 5. We did extensive comparing between the two amplifiers.
VTL ULTIMATE M/C
Did you try looking inside with a flashlight to see if the board is marked. I would be surprised if it isn't. The 4 12AX7s you mentioned on the left hand side is for phono.
ARC D-115: What tubes and cables?
No KT88s for D-115. SED 6550s are good, but must be matched. I liked RCA clear top 6FQ7s. Tubes from Audio Research will give you the most neutral sound, but they will cost you plenty.
+1 Radio Shack

Help with older gear
I agree with Jmcgrogan's comment. I see 25 year old equipment rated 9/10 based on cosmetics, but what about the electrical and mechanical components. I own a turntable from the 1970s still new in the box and never assembled. The belt for this turn...
Super Cheap Upgrade

How big is your room?
which jumpers for Vandersteen 2 Ce's??
Do not use jumpers on Vandersteens. Buy some inexpensive speaker wire at the Shack or go to Home Depot and buy solid core 18ga wire. I think it is called thermostat or door bell wire. It is dirt cheap. It's like a poor man's Anticable with hardly ...
Amplifier's age
"If it ain't broke don't fix it." I have owned several amplifiers from the 1960s including Marantz 9, Marantz 8B, Scott LK150 and Dynaco amps that were completely original and sounded very nice. I also own amplifers from the mid to late 1970s also...
Modern High end vs. old receiver
Yep, it really makes you wonder what has happened in the last 30 years besides hype and we are right back to the discussion about audio magazines and their reviews. But then Kenwood was designed by some brilliant guys. At least one of them went on...
