Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat
So again, the question regarding the $500 magnetic mat, "how and why does it work?" remains unanswered, and nobody even tries to address this question ("Spintronics" certainly doesn't as allegedly the magnetic properties of the mats aren't where t...
Hegel H590 List $13,500. Reasonable?
I have to support Russia a little if only because Tung Sol's factory is still allowed to exist. Otherwise it surprises even me that my current amp and preamp are USA products...who knew? They aren't cheap though...my Schiit Freya preamp cost 700 b...
Really...My favorite power tube is reissue that's not widely popular
I misspelled "would" although otherwise my last comment is accurate...I still like the 7581As in my "Had HO" amp...just somehow more revealing of musical detail maybe...something...
Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat
So, did somebody answer my question and I missed it? Damn...I'm not asking Little Timmy to give up his carefully developed scientific theories or return any of the lucre offered to him by the Faithful Tweak Flock, just looking for anybody who migh...
Tight bass sub recommendations
Tight bass can be created by a bass player damping every note, and utilizing over-damped drums. Listen to this sort of thing outside with no acoustic boundaries and there ya go!
Thinking about buying new speakers....the Elac Uni Fi5 towers or the Klipsch hersery lll
Nothing "honky" about my VERY coherent Heresy IIIs, and to state otherwise is heresy (sorry...too easy). Great soundstage, and with a sub or two become utterly world class with far less space needed than the gigantic LaScalas et al. I will put Kli...
Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat
What, exactly, does an Omega Mat do? How does it do it?
One Amp To ‘Rule’ Them All....
Note that assembling an audio system by trying to get audio geeks to agree on some sort of amplification "standard" isn't a particularly good idea, as this crowd is going to display all the technical blather and subjective opining they can muster,...
Hornshoppe "the Truth" preamp - any opinions?
The Saga is simply too inexpensive to be considered a true audiophile product, as are many items sold by Schiit. I have a Freya that's also cursed by its low cost, and I think sounds better than other preamps I've compared it to including those th...
Tight bass sub recommendations
Here's a very long explanation of why I like my 2 REL subs as they work very well. Wait...I meant a very SHORT explanation or, actually, none at all...they just sound inexplicably great, or at least I refuse to explic.
Klipsch!. The worst speaker company, EVER?
The following comment is mostly rhetorical and possibly mildly comedic in nature, and not worthy of reply, thus saving the reader from having to think about it much if at all: What is the number of people happily modding Heresy IIIs? I need to kno...
Really...My favorite power tube is reissue that's not widely popular
Maybe some artistically applied gold meanderings on the 7581As whoud make them seem more welcome around the 77s.
Klipsch!. The worst speaker company, EVER?
Porcine metaphors aside, I don’t buy speakers as a platform to build on as it’s more that I simply add things that fit my existing "platform" and enjoy them or toss ’em out as needed. Also, please add the term "red herring" to "white elephant" in ...
Really...My favorite power tube is reissue that's not widely popular
The 120s sounded great in a Jolida 502p push-pull amp that I used them in primarily, and only swapped 'em out when they got weak....wound up using Gold Lion KT88s mostly. In the amp I now use (Dennis Had Inspire Firebottle HO 12wpc...4 tubes total...
Klipsch!. The worst speaker company, EVER?
The Heresy IIIs aren't any sort of "white elephant" except to those who don't know what that term actually means. The exact mid horn and tweeter as Cornwalls at half the weight and price, and the price difference alone would allow the purchase of ...
