Are Apogee Scintilla Speakers worth purchasing

Given their age and dated design do they sound that good compared to more modern designs?

They are the Stages w/subwoofer bases. With Pass Aleph 2 amps on the panels and a modded Aragon 4004MKII on the subs, these easily beat my Magnepan 3.3rs. They are the best speakers I've heard in my home, period. I haven't heard anything that beats them. But I do want to check out the Studio Grands, the next Apogee up in the Grand series....

Kind of like a pair of book-shelf placed next to your 20/20's. Apple's and orange's IMO. Dave

What amplifiers can drive these beasts?
