Audioquest cables?

I am the owner of a pair Audioquest Midnight speakercables, but I am looking for better sound from my Dynaudios and I think I could get this with another speakercable. I think the Midnight is to soft in the bass, More control and fastness is what I need.

I tryed Nordost, but it´s to metallic and analytic to my Dynaudios. But then I think: couldnt I just buy a more expensive and newer Audioquest speakercable?

Have anyone heard the diffrences between old and unexpensive Audioquest cables, and new and more expensive Audioquest cables? Or maybe just experiences with new Audioquest cables?

More control and fastness is what I need.

What Dynaudios are you using? Control and fastness is a trait related to speaker critical damping and amplifier more than a cable. It is quite unusual for people to complain that Dynaudios are slow and lack control. Are you using a tube amp perhaps?

The ported 52 SE seems to lack woofer control but most Dynaudios are very controlled. Some Dynaudios take a long time to get used to compared to the typical warm resonant bass of other designs (usually reported as long break in times, as people get accustomed to the new sound)
Concur, dynaudios are typically known for their analytical nature and tight bass. The bass issue sounds like a front end issue and the newer copper Audioquest cables are generally very smooth cables that aren't detail monsters while being solid in the bass which sounds like it should be what you are looking for.
Move your Midnight to the Bottom ( bass only ) and try to find a pair of Audioquest Argent ( Argent + if your lucky enough ) for the top end..Great combo..Used it for years on B&W 801s..The Midnight is much better at Bass only and the Argent has some Silver and is exc. top end cable........
I think the Supra Sword speaker cable, from www.Madisound.com or www.audiorevelation.com, are extremely fast and detailed, but also full bodied. I ended up upgrading all of my system after getting them in order to take advantage of how good they are. They're also less than $1000.00. If you call Audio Revelation instead of Madisound, hold your ground and don't let Jay push you in the Crystal Cable direction, they're a lot more expensive. He also has a pair that you can audition.
Older AQ cable like the Midnight and Argent were made with different metal from a different source than the conductors used in their cables today. Sonically, the older cables were very friendly but a bit mushy in the bass and generally soft sounding compared with any of their current and recent cables that list PSC, PSC+ or PSS as the conductor material. All of these will sound much tighter and faster in the bass.

Try CV8, Pikes Peak, Mont Blanc, Gibraltar or Volcano.
The cable that seems to be a cost to performance winner is the Audience AU24. I haven't tried their speaker cables, but I was quite impressed with their I/C's.

I never was a big fan of Audioquest, but beauty is in the EAR of the beholder :-)
Audience makes fantastic cables....I tend to like MIT better as it suits my listening tastes better...I have owned nordost and audioquest, but I feel that MIT are the most natural sounding to my ears.

^^ what AQ and nordost cables did you own. which did you prefer. i have a pair of jaguars and heimdalls. have not tried any MITs.

should i?
Try the Audioquest Rockefeller speaker cables, from what I've heard they'll do what you want.
I picked up a old pair of AQ Indigo once, YUCK! It pretty much scared me away fronm their cables for a while until I tried the Mont Blanc which I still run and like very much. I'd like to try some Kilamanjaros or one of their other silver cable. Has any one here compared the two latter cables?
i have read on other boards that upgrading the DBS unit, say from a 36v to a 72v one, provides a noticeable improvement to the performance and sound of the cable.

has anyone tried this.
