EQ presets for stereo listening...

You need to tell us what equipment you are referring to. AFAIK, there is always an option for no EQ.

Many complex electronics from the major manufacturers have a 'reset'.
Som group of unusual button pushing, usually at turn on will reset the electronics.
You should check your manual for such a setting.
It may solve your problem.
