Favorite poorly-recorded albums

I'm listening to Candy Apple Grey by Husker Du right now. Great album; sounds like it was recorded at the bottom of a well. Pretty typical for Husker Du. I read somewhere that it was intentional.

Do you have albums that you keep coming back to despite poor recording quality?

Agree with Inner Mounting Flame but my Exile first pressing is terrific.

YMMV
Inner Mounting Flame is huge watershed, but yeah... usually yer' better off having it play back in your head instead of on your system.
Same w/ Soft Machine 3, Tony Williams Lifetime/ Emergency, Captain Beefheart/Mirror Man, Lou Reed/Rock and Roll Animal and Larry Coryell Barefoot Boy.
Mapman, I agree with your Allman Brothers. People should relisten to "Enlightened Rogues". Excellent music, even though this was the Don Johnson era. Also, the Moody Blues lps I have on Decca, sound quite good overall.
Still, Inner Mounting Flame is very listenable on Japanese and even British original vinyl. I must also say that MFSL did a great job with the CD edition.
Last night I listened to Rodriguez's album 'Cold Fact' for the first time in years. It's old, but the music is still great and the recording is truly vile.
