i sold fisher in the early to mid seventies (still have the pocket protector with logo).The units were not anywhere close to Fisher's glory days. They were not up to the standards set by other budget products like vector research, panasonic, sony, etc......the 300 watt rating is not accurate either. sorry, but its a 10 dollar receiver for sure.....the pocket protector kicks ass though.
Fisher 601 Receiver
Picked up a nice looking and fully functional fisher 601 receiver, made in new york. However, I have not found much info on this unit. It is a SS receiver with 300 watts and "wide-surround," for quadrophonic sound. Is this a "keeper" or should I move along and find a better vintage receiver. Also, interested in value. I paid $10 at GW. Thanks.
