Focal Aria speaker

Anyone here have any love (or dislike) for the Focal Aria 948 speaker?
I’ve ordered them (at a big discount) on their reputation without having heard them.
My taste is classical music.
I want better imaging and more bass than my current speakers (modified Dahlquist DQ 20’s.)
I can still cancel the order.

My room size is 25’x23’
Power sources: NuForce 9 v.3 monobloc amps,  Modified CJ PV 11 preamp.

Wasn't there a thread on here 7 or 10 days ago, with someone who had ordered in 948's (or 936's) and was having a bit of a hard time getting used to their sound.

@rvpiano You may want to search 2018 threads.
Contuzzi,

Have you heard them with classical?
Is there enough bass for you?
Were they hard to set up?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Yes, there was. Uberwaltz is the guy with 936's. He's using them in a fairly untreated room with 3 walls of windows and he's still sorting out the placement.

To the OP,
I own the 936's and I listened to the 948's extensively before buying my 936's. Bass is NOT a problem for those things. I get flat response in my room down to 31Hz with my 936's and the 948's will do the exact same thing. Contuzzi and I disagree on ideal placement, but that's a room dependent issue. I haven't found them all that difficult to place, not anymore so than any other speaker, and certainly less problematic than dipoles, but it depends on the room and your experience as to how hard placing them will be. I've piped plenty of classical through mine and they do a glorious job. If placed properly in a sufficiently treated room they will produce an absolutely massive soundstage full of depth, width, and towering height. But if you stuff a big TV between them, place them simply to look good, and do nothing to mitigate reflection, they will close in, lose all their focus, and possibly even be painful to listen to.
Twoleftears,

Thank you so much for your response.
These speakers appear to be great.
Unfortunately, I have no option but to install them between a large big screen TV.
But the TV is somewhat recessed.
Hopefully, I can mitigate any problems if I get the speakers.

The bigger the differential between the plane of the scene and the plane of the speaker drivers, the better.  Negative effects definitely are reduced (personal experience).  Try the woolen rug drape on the screen; you could also think about getting a custom absorption panel made for you by GIK.
