How good is your hearing ? And how do you know ?

Sometimes I have a big laugh when reading this forum. There are clearly people whose hearing is, shall I say, very special. So why buy good stuff ?

Hooray, made me laugh guys...On a more serious note... They say a Woman never tells her age...
For an audiophile that is "never the results of hearing test". Nobodies d*mn business. The only positive is so some other idiot can smirk and feel smug. (even though HE can't hear Sh*t !)And that is my real opinion on the topic.
Being a dolphin and an audiophile has it's advantages. Wiki mentions I can hear " Bottlenose dolphins hear tones with a frequency up to 160 kHz with the greatest sensitivity ranging from 40 to 100 kHz. " so just chalk up to good hearing when I say I am a high frequency maven. So stop worrying what others can hear. worry if YOU can hear worth a spit.
Thank you! Yes it is a special gift Hearing sh*t drop a mile away, no problem.  Horses, dogs, cats, pigeons, spiders, mosquitoes. I can hear it all.drop.
On the topic, I have to say limited 'anything' does not mean one should climb into bed and give up. Use what you have and make of it whatever you wish to. Including High End, Hearing issues or not.
Anyone trying to tell someone who has limited hearing or some peculiar hearing problem they cannot do xx or buy ABC is EVIL.************************************************************************
I (sadly) bought a item (from Audiogon, but I could go pick it up) I really wanted from a fellow who caved in to the Wife, since he said his hearing is going, so 'he' (actually somebody ELSE decided for him) into giving up the system. It clearly was breaking his heart. The fools who convinced him to give it up 'because', well I hope rot in Hell. I was in no position to try to convince him otherwise..Do you go up to someone who is handicapped or disabled in some other way... and tell them: Why try, just toss it in,? I sure hope not.
But it’s a really really BIG complicated CNC machined cog...Plus it chimes on the quarter hour... Only in 'N' Hyperspace of course.
