I just realized that each of my components is from a different country (and they all seemingly get along fine!).
Wondering how international other people's systems are. Mine:
Scotland (turntable and cartridge) Canada (phono pre) England (CDP and tape deck) New Zealand (integrated amp) France (speakers) Holland (ICs) US (cables, cords)
Turntable, Scotland Amps and Preamp, USA Speakers, Italian DAC, USA CD, Holland Cables, USA Cartridge, Switzerland Tonearm, USA Tubes, Russia Tubes, Slovakia Tubes, USA Power cord, South Africa Power cord, USA
So if I buy a foreign component used, how would that hurt the U.S.? I would think buying American to support the U.S. economy would only be relevant for the first sale of the new item.
After that, U.S. or foreign, if the sale is made in the U.S., it supports the U.S. as the dealer gets his commission for whatever he / she sells.
Table, arm - British Cartridge - Japanese CD player - Japanese Phono stage - American Tape deck - Japanese Integrated amp - Australian Speakers - American Cables, power cords - American Jeans to wear for listening sessions - French and Italian
