Linn LP12 and Stax tonearm cartridge recommendation

I have an older Linn LP12 and Stax tonearm and need t replace the Rega Elys cartridge with a bad stylus. Needing to keep cost down I've found and picked up a a Shure M97xE and a Audio Technica AT95E.
Before I mount either one, suggestions?

The Linn cartridges were based on the AT95 and, having owned both cartridges, I prefer it. But if your system needs some richness, I would start with the Shure, otherwise the AT should slot in quite nicely. Enjoy the ride.
