Little bit "forward" sound - what cables to avoid?

OK, I'll try.
It's like wall of sound right in front of you, like singer sings right to your face (I exaggerate of course).
Especially clear I feel it with women vocal - Sarah Vaughan, Patricia Barber...

Honestly, and please understand I'm not trying to be argumentative, I am very
doubtful that anything other than a change in your electronics...perhaps the
preamp, is going to correct the forward sound you describe.

Different speakers would do it: some with a more recessed/polite sound due to
a dip in the presence band.

Wire won't do it, IMO. I know that's not what you want to hear, but having tried
many different brands and designs of wire, I strongly believe it to be true.

I owned an ARC Ref 3 for a short while that had a presentation closer to what
you describe than have all the other preamp I have owned, but you will have to
experiment.

Once again, I am not looking for a way to fix forward sound, it is not a problem. I just want to get better cables, and asking if there are cables that potentially can make it a real problem. If cables have nothing to do with that - it's fine, or, as Rgs22 said "I did try Nordost Valhalla ICs once, and they were extremely forward", so at least I will not look at them.
