Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat

I’m curious about this product from Perfect Path Technologies and would like to hear from those that have experience with it. I’ve bought and used the Total Contact enhancer and like what it does for my system so I’m interested in hearing how this Omega E mat performs.

@Oregonpapa,

Dp you mean the inside of the entire chasis? Thanks again for your recommendations of the SR Blue fuse, SR UEF Black power cord and especially the TC. TC AT or approaching 60 days is like magic! Fairly steady but very very nice improvement almost weekly in my system, no big deal at 30 days but at around 60 days now....holy crap great! Thanks to Frank and all others involved for this and other threads on the above mentioned products.
<3 Hey guys. <3

Tim and I are totally humbled by your responses. We read these heart-felt comments and it makes Timmy want to work even harder.

<3
Enjoy the music!

Krissy
If any of you have enough TC left over to paste the interior of your power conditioner, I highly recommend that you do so. I'm getting stunning results after doing this. It seems to be the most effective spot so far.

Frank
Congrats on your TC results, Tuffy. Please do try an E Mat.

I just placed a second mat under Wadia 861SE earlier today, waited eight hours and am listening now.  Two mats side-by-side fit just right from front-to-back under this large unit.  The results are already apparent. I am hearing more detail across the stage and much deeper in---about a hundred miles, give or take.

I ordered this mat last Friday at around 2AM in the morning, and it arrived here in MN before noon today, on Monday---freaky fast---thanks, Krissy, for filling my request on packaging.

I received just over 1.5 ml with my batch. It was marked in graduations of 0.1 ml with marks along the syringe. You can paste a couple of large systems with 1.0 ml of TC. The stuff is like magic.... I literally mean that too! I just hit 56 but maybe 63 days (lost track) after pasting TC to my double run of Teo Ultra's using Audioquest Y splitters via the Schroeder Effect. The system sound quality gets better almost every week. The last two days I am really shocked by the three dimensionality of the sound. Female vocals are just beautiful now. Bass slam along with wonderful timbre and tone color of instruments. Huge soundstage and instrumental placing front to back, side to side and with great heighth. In other words the whole picture. I am quite stunned by this. I can't say at 30 days I noticed any real jump in sound quality but around 60 days just stunning. I really was expecting nothing to happen around 60 days but I am ever glad I was wrong! I can't believe how good a Redbook cd can sound! I bet it even gets a little better. 300 bucks for quite probably what would have cost at minimum 10k and up in  component and cabling upgrades....no exaggeration as I am quite good at math. I guess I have to gladly try the mat soon Lol.   Thank you thank you thank you Tim Mrock!!
You get 1.5 ml originally, <3 Should be plenty left to do a system <3 Have fun! <3 Krissy

I sent a message to Tim but just wondering if anybody here knows what the amount of TC comes in the syringe? My friend that is selling me what he has left over has 1ml left in the tube and I can't remember when I got mine how many ml are in there. Anybody know?
Yes I have called Tim on a couple of occasions and he is always fun to talk with.  You can hear and feel the passion he has over the phone.  He takes great joy in making sure his customers are happy.  Keep up the good work Tim
Good morning <3 Without the TC being in the freezer, it still has a shelf life of years.... working on a tube approaching the 5 year mark and it's still fine. <3   Tim wants to get to know all his customers....it's the best part of this gig. <3 Please call with any questions you have. <3 603-203-4486. Have a great day, guys. <3 Krissy <3
^^^ According to Tim Mrock putting it in the freezer will extend the life indefinitely. You'd have to thaw it out before use though.

I have my remaining tube (70%+) sitting at room temperature (under 80 degrees, usually 67-75).  Will it last five years at room temperature or should I freeze it?
@oregonpapa

I’ve done that to one of my conditioners and it is amazing the difference. Do you happen to know what the shelf life of the TC is and does keeping it in the freezer prolong it? I got a buddy that may sell me what he has left of his tube so just wondering how long it can stay good.
OMG!!!! How good is this going to get?

I spent the majority of the day taking apart my Sound Application power conditioner and applying Total Contact to the interior. I pasted everything from the six double sockets, the wires, the caps, the connections and even the inside of the lid. It took a whole tube of TC to get the job done.

It was a real bear to put this thing back together, taking both hands and both feet. It came apart like a Rubik’s Cube. Surely they could have thought of a better way to put this damned thing together than this!

Anyway, I spent the past couple of hours listening to some of my favorite CD’s. It was like someone focused a bright light on the entire system. Still very musical, organic, involving emotionally, with much more subtlety and inner detail than ever before. My Gawd ... female vocals are so human and lifelike. Its getting scary.

I’ve recommended the Carol Kidd "Gold" CD before. Its out of print and collectible at this point, selling for $250+ on Ebay at the moment. If you have a friend who can burn you a copy, you need it. What a beautiful voice!

So, bottom line ... if you are using a power conditioner, its more than worthwhile to apply Total Contact to the interior. Amazing, really.

Kenya AA Kahindu, medium roasted organic shade grown coffee beans from Blue Macaw Coffee Roasters, eBay seller, $21.95 + free shipping for two 1-lb bags. You got that right, Bubba!
The Total Contact and the Omega E Mats are a killer combo.

By the way, as a person who home roasts coffee, I'd like to give Candella007 a plus one. +1

I would remove the Bybees, if you want to hear everything the mat can do. In my experience, the two do not mix well. I also liked what the Bybees did before I tried the mats (and TC), but they are not even in the same league as the mats.
My IQSE that were in the breaker panel are now on the fridge. Not sure if they really interfere but the mat is much more effective.
if someone is interested please PM me.
Innocent question. How can magnetic tweaks interfere with something that is allegedly not (rpt not) operating magnetically?

Pop quiz: How can any tweak interfere with another tweak if they address different issues?
So if HFCMC-05’s are not compatible, what about Bybee Signal Enhancers, anybody have experience? I’ve had amazing results with Bybee’s on the mains consumer unit ( 7 in total) and under the network switch and hub. Can I still keep these in place after I get the Omega E Mats or should I remove them? Your advice would be appreciated and thanks all for the interesting comments.
Like Roasting coffee slowly transforms the chemical and physical properties of green beans into beautiful coffee beans...the mats will slowly transform and improve the electrical conductivity of your equipment & near power...

You just got to relax and enjoy the aroma while your coffe is ready to drink.

By the way I got 6 in place for over a week & they won’t go anywhere...will wait another week before reporting back. Enjoy!
^^^ I have my own theory.

I don’t believe the mats have to "charge up." I think the energy emanating from the mats takes time to completely saturate the equipment they are placed under. This includes the chassis, the circuit board, the connecting wires, the caps, resistors, tube sockets, the tubes and all of the dials and controls. As more of the area is saturated, or conversely, the more mats used, the better the sound will be.

Initially, the mats did improve the sound over using no mats at all. As I increased the number of mats used past a certain point, usually the sound degraded for a short period of time ... maybe at most about a half day.

I’ve already reported on placing the two mats under the "Sound Application" power conditioner. The first one was an overall improvement. With the second one installed about a week later, the upper mid-range was improved, but the bass was degraded. After four weeks using the two mats under the power conditioner, everything came back into focus, and from top to bottom was much improved. Its totally seamless now with the deepest, most defined bass I’ve ever had from this system.

To answer Lak’s question ... If I only had one mat, I would put it inside of the circuit breaker box door, close the door, and enjoy not only the initial improvement in the audio system, but the TV system as well. Then, I would leave it alone and enjoy the further improvements that will follow over the next four weeks .... and longer.

By the way, if you are using those magnetic plug-in thingies (can't think of their name right now) ... take them all out of your system before installing the Omega E Mats, and leave them out. According to several comments, I'm beginning to believe they are counter productive to what the Omega E Mats do.

Frank
jetter,

Tim probably has  more insight into what is happening, but I honestly don’t have any idea what is going on. “Charging up” is just a phrase used to refer to the time period the mat has to stay in place before it reaches its full potential for sonic improvement in one's system.

tommy, my last post was deleted by whoever. But it was echoing your post that it can’t matter if the gear is on or off, or the four week charging time would start over every day for any gear not left on indefinitely. But before seeing this written, I had assumed it was charging from something being emitted from the gear or at least some electrical force if attached to a fuse box.

You know I am skeptical, but in a really nonchalant manner, but now I am wondering that if it isn’t charging from the gear, when you say "waiting for the mats to charge up can be frustrating", I honestly wonder what the heck is charging the mat, perhaps the sun’s energy bouncing off the atmosphere or the gravitational pull emanating from the center of the earth, bombardments from gamma rays (really)? I don’t have a huge sense of curiosity, but just honestly wondering about this stuff out loud.

 Hey lak,
Please call Timmy.
Your questions will be addressed directly. <3

It doesn’t matter whether the gear is on or off, it’s the time.

Waiting for the mats to charge up can be frustrating for impatient people like me, but you’ll know it, and it’ll be worth it, when they “pop”. For me, that has been right around the two week mark, then things continue to improve. YMMV

I’ve noticed the sound will go temporarily south the day before they pop. Then, the next day, wow! If you’re well into the process, and things are off one day, I’ve learned that’s a good thing.
Also when you turn your gear off do you start all over? I assume not, but several of us were wondering.
mrs PPT.

If you have the E-cards in the room when will they actually be available for the public to purchase?
@mrs_ppt, I was wondering if you have an opinion to share with us regarding if a person only has one or two E-Mats, where is the best location for them?
I've been reading the discussion since it began, however, find it very frustrating when it's suggested to leave the E-Mat(s) in place for at least three or more weeks.
How's a person to find the best location to hear what the E-Mat(s) can really accomplish?
Well,

A few weeks ago I decided to take the plunge, and ordered a dozen more from Tim. Add that to the 4 I had, and it makes 16. I’ve got two on my power panel, two under my CPT Equi=Core 300 balanced power unit, two each under my CD transport, DAC, pre & amp, and two on top of each speaker.

It’s two weeks today since I added the new ones. I’ve been waiting ’til they’ve had a chance to really charge up before posting. It’s been a great ride so far, the improvement in the bass, by itself, is amazing. I’m looking forward to even more over the next few weeks.
<3 <3 Good morning.  38 Omega mats and 36 e-cards in the sound room, he just counted.  It's beyond belief! So natural. <3 He didn't stop because of sound degradation. The most we have stacked is 6 under each monoblock. <3 And 10 of the future room treatments :) Curious about when 38 stops improving!  Testing sounds fantastic! I love the bass you can feel with your whole body.  And deep melodic rhythm.  Was Neil Peart in the room with us this morning, Timmy?  <3 Love, Me.
I thought I would stop at 6, then 9, 10, 11, 12. I’ve stopped at 12 because I found that my new cabling seems to accomplish much of the same thing times 2 or 3 (but included speaker, pre-amp/amp IC, CD player IC and phono IC cabling) about as costly as 12 Omega E-Mats. Who knows, maybe another 6 or 12 mats would improve the sound more.
So 6 days ago I ordered 2 more mats.  Rather then tell you about the usual improvements(deeper and more detailed bass,  wide deeper soundstage,  little intricate details that come thru even more) . I will just say that for the last 2 months I have noticed the system sounds a little better each time I listen.  I plan on purchasing more mats until I hear no more improvements,  but so far the system just keeps getting better
grannyring ...

In an earlier post I discussed placing a second Omega E Mat under my power conditioner. I also commented on the improvement the second mat afforded in the upper mid-range. It was also detrimental to the bass. So, there was a definite improvement in one area and a degradation in another.

Knowing how the Mats take time to fully develop in one’s system, I left the second mat in place. Over time, not only did the upper mid-range continue to improve, but the entire mid-range became better than ever.

Long story short ... after FOUR WEEKS, the second mat finally came into it’s own, and not only did the bass return, it was better than ever. The system is as seamless as before, but now its far more enjoyable overall.

Bottom line .... You have to be patient with these Omega E Mats in order to get the very best out of them. Leave them in place (no matter where you put them) for four weeks and see what happens.

Frank
@grannyring   When you had the E-Mat inside the electrical service, did it cover about half of the surface area of the service?  When I had only one Mat to start, I placed it, using the magnet, to the inside of the TOP of the service door so the Mat was across from the wires.  After 15 days, it was a voila!  I now have a second Mat in the bottom half of the service across from the breakers.  Not only is the stereo sounding more open and dynamic but our video screen is much more highly resolved (a virtual total lack of grain), with more saturated colors and 3D-like effect on fine Ultra HD programming. Great sights and sounds to be had!  👁👂

I hope you get to experience the positive effects with your gear!
Ok 10 days is not enough. I will try for 14-20 days. I thought 10 days was quite patient for the average Audiophile! The thread owner comments suggest 10 days is certainly a good indication. My breaker box is only 8 feet away from my gear so hopefully being this close helps me on this 20 day quest. Thanks.
You will get the full effect  3 full weeks  AFTER it's in place. You have not given this mat enough time at ANY location.  It must be left alone, Bill, or you won't hear the magic!   Poor little emat, being neglected  and shipped across the country.  Patience, Grasshopper.  lol <3
Using a fellow Agoner’s mat. I get around here and have been an active part of the community for decades...see my feedback. I obviously know many who both own and are trying the mat as we communicate by email and through Agon.

We friendly Aphile types like to share our skills, time, knowledge as well as gear and tweaks at times.
Hey Bill.... Tim knows everyone who bought a mat.... Just curious.....when did you purchase one? Thanks. Krissy
I have been testing one mat for just over two weeks. My system is already completely treated with the TC paste for some added perspective to the reader. I love that paste! For my rig and room the mat has been a mixed bag. I placed the mat under my Lyngdorf 2170 powered dac/int amp.

At first the music became a tad brighter with the music more energized and individual instruments more apparent. Over time the brightness went away. No doubt the mat makes for a more vibrant presentation. However, with the good came a sense that it was too much of a good thing. Too much vibrancy if you will. I removed the mat from under the 2170 after 10 days and placed it in the breaker box. After some 4 days here I just did not notice as much change and bailed on that position.

Right now it is back under my int amp and that vibrancy is back. Exciting and certainly different, but I am just not sure if I like the sound change (long term listening) or am simply amused by it? I will give it another week before my final thoughts. Thus far the additional energy, vibrancy and presence the mat delivers is perhaps calling too much attention to itself for my taste and particular system. There is no doubt just one mat has an influence on our gear and resulting music. On one hand I like like it, then on the other I am just not sure.

I normally charge per session but in this instance as there is no guarantee of a cure consider it a freebie from your friendly neighborhood Uberwaltz!
