I wonder if allowing the OP of a thread to delete (no changing, not cutting a few words, total delete of a response, anytime, just by the OP of a thread ,and naturally Audiogon.) For anyone responding to the thread. It sure would raise some hackles, but I would love to be able to take out things that are just nonsense to a thread I started.This would raise the standard for a LOT of threads, where folks go off topic, rant, and generally create chaos.It also might start wars, where folks delete others tit for tat.. But I think it would be GREAT.I am sure it would take a big revision in the background program?

Another alternate would be able to make YOUR post to a thread flash and change colors text zooming out and back.. I bet Geoff would go for THAT! Can you imagine the riot going on in some thread... LOL

The current moderators certainly remove posts with outright profanity. Also posts attacking another person, or insulting another person (though as folks can read, Geoff can 'insult' me and no problem, since I insult him back, all in a 'friendly abusive way LOL)Generally posts attacking any IDEA are OK. And some insults aimed at the IDEA are fine too. No post actually selling anything would remain either.

The connection made between

I can envision a "Big Brother Audiophile
" edition. With really great stereos in every room. The contests for HoH would always involve either musical knowledge, equipment parsing by EAR, or moving Pass amplifiers around obstacles or how long you can hold it up. Perhaps building your set of IC. The first sets of bonding would probably get sorted based on all wire is just wire vs all wires can sound different. Then tubes vs SS. Though it might switch to Classical AND Jazz vs Rock/Pop at anytime.

Simple question: Should I buy it? or NOT buy it? So far waffling has gotten me to the brink. But can it push me OVER the brink into actually buying? It sure would look pretty on my audio shelf. Geoff is not a troll. He may be annoying to some folks, but he is definitely not a troll. I would say he creates a lot of difficulty for those with problems understanding sarcastic humor, that is a fer’ sure.

Squabbles. Why reply? If you already know the other person's response. Why continue to create drama for no reason? Because you like to see you words in a page? Do you think anyone else does not already know? And so you have to tell them? Or maybe they forgot, and you want to be sure they remember your complaint in quadurplicate? I think we are up to at let 200 posts which if I could would be deleted as having nothing to do with the thread topic. My current ramblings do. in a way. May I suggest to folks who just HAVE to keep it up to stop and realize how you appear to everyone else. You already said it, so why be like a doddering fool and say it over again. If repetition was a sign of dementia, Geoff would be institutionalized, strapped in his day chair drooling. Maybe he is? Just they gave him a laptop to keep him quiet?. And his antagonists are sitting right next to him???That would be a new plan for Senior Care! Strap 'em down and hand them a laptop, with plenty of forums to click on. LOL

As for insulting Seniors I am almost 70 years old. The big 70 is looming closer than I like.
I notice I reuse adjectives within a few sentences. It helps I have to proofread anyway, since I am using a 3 year old $300 junk laptop for internet. At least it has a 15.3" screen. The keyboard SuuuCKS.
As for DQ-10s.. Are those sold at Dairy Queen?

prof, you know the story from "Alien" 'Acid for blood'.. I am nice to nice people, and mean to mean people. Someone cuts me, they get the acid. The one problem with this is Women are supposed to 'always be nice' to jerk Men. Sorry, I give what I get, 100% of the time. Suprises a lot of Men, And oddly, Men who do it are lust playing hard. Women who do it are just B......es. Double standard.
Here and other sites (like car sites) where Men rule, I have told other Women NEVER allow anyone to know you are a Woman. Never. Women who do not disclose they are Women will discover Men treat them as an equal, they do not attack them for no reason, amazing really. If only I had known that back when the net started. Not one person here would know I am a Woman. And 90% of the attacking and harassment I got, and gave, would not have existed.And I am not just saying this, I can prove it from various sites, ones where I am known as a Woman, And others where I have remained anonymous. I am the exact same person, same writing, just on sites they do not know, I am treated with respect, minor arguments the other party does not 'get offended'.
I do have to say, here, as Audiogon there is less hassle here than at other audio sites, I guess the jerks like those sites better?
