Shout out for Neil Young's Sugar Mountain Live LP

Came out yesterday. Sparse and elegant, with lots of banter between songs. Hard to imagine 40 years have gone by since this was recorded. The Buffalo Springfield songs have never sounded better, played on only an acoustic guitar, and there are a few early NY solo gems, like "Old Laughing Lady". In a word--Essential.

Great to hear, I asked my brother-in-law to give me this one for X-mas. He asked for Dylan "Live 1964". Bet you can guess how old we are!
You're talking about the Canterbury House release. I've lived in Ann Arbor environs my entire life, too bad I was just a kid when he recorded this. I have to get this cd!
14.99 at Amazon. Also, check out the short blurb/review from the present day Chaplain of Canterbury House, Rev. Reid Hamilton, a little background info on the concert.

It's hard to criticize the Canterbury House recording in the context of the Massey Hall set, which was intended to be released as a record. That said, I do find the hissy sonics of the CH to be pretty bad, and the performance to be tepid and insecure. I could easily have passed on this one.
