Tekton Double Impacts vs the competition....

So I recently have been on a pursuit of better speakers ...I know its all relative to each individual listener . I am a professional musician and am seeking some powerful depth and clarity for my cavernous living room which will be addressed and treated. 30x11x10 pitched ceiling.

I am polling the Tekton Double Impact owners they're opinions on living with these seemingly beast like cool speakers....after auditioning Harbeth and various others, I remain in a state of inquisitive, insatiable limbo and am ready to forge into some new sound arena....many of these high end speakers just aren't available to demo . What can handle high volume and still hold the presence and clarity / bottom?

my tastes : Prince, all 70's jazz fusion such as Billy Cobham, Return to Forever, Lee Ritenour, Led Zeppelin, Kiss , Miles, Coltrane, Steely Dan , Toto, Jellyfish, Plini, David Maxim Micic , overall its melodic rock / jazz that needs to be sometimes cranked to very high levels especially on "bro night"

Marantz PM-11S1
Sony STR V7
SVS SB1000 Sub

Thank you all !

Yes if you place the panels low enough they will do the same thing but I had problems with wall outlets.

Use speaker cloth to cover and stretch it so it looks clean; can get this at any Michaels-type fabric store. Only use "green" insulation-type material in your panels -- fiberglass has health issues.

I can see buying 2 pair and stacking them with the top pair inverted, as we all used to do with our Advents back in the day . Enjoy ! MrD.
Well, I agree and have been thinking of buying two sets of DIs and inverted one pair then chaining those two together -- same as the Ulfbehrts but $6k less expensive...a nice, biker-type chain I would think.
Kristofa  +1  exactly my thought
...was planning on going to home depot today to make some sound panels ...only thing I'm not clear on is the fabric that covers the front of panels ...seems like it needs to be thin and I'd like to get something not super ugly & looks nice...
To be fair, the speakers are already ridiculously ugly, so you might as well normalize the overall look of the room at this point and not worry about looks of any specific details.
Seems like after you get the $3300 upgrade to the SE, build your wood panels, etc, etc. that there must be a better path to hi-fi heaven. Or at least a more economical and sane approach. BTW, no one has mentioned the "competition".  Nothing comes even close for $3K. Ridiculous.
yes I hear ya , I went off the deep end a bit but I think Im going to like it!

Delivery set up for around 9/2

Salk.
Better looking. Better sound.

Models for much less than the $3k DI ugly boxes. Sound better too.
Did I say that?

@eldonparet

Since you said it, why not elaborate? Which Tekton speakers have you have heard, and in what way were the lower-priced Salks better?
eldonparet. Yes, which Tekton speakers have you heard? And not at a show, as most speakers don’t really showcase as well as a home setup or proper location. Also ugly? Well to each their own. I like the 8 tweeter look. It’s different.
Ok , so the Tekton DI SE's showed up flawless ....not a scratch to be found. The cabinets are beautiful (although quite large) they suit me perfectly (big speaker , big sound) Hooked them up to my Marantz PM-11S1 and then my Sony STR-V7 . They are amazing . The first thing I noticed was the sound field and clarity was just unreal . The lows were very powerful and I really don’t think I need a sub. It honestly at times felt like Van Halen was in my living room . I’m still experimenting with EQ/ Sound treatment etc....so far pretty darn happy , thanks for all your guys help! (Extra special thanks to waltersalas ;)

Great report, tommypenngotti! I was pretty confident that you would love them, and I am glad that has turned out to be the case. The SE's are incredibly dynamic, with startling clarity. Say 'hello' to Van Halen for me:)

I hope you enjoy the SE's for a long time. They'll reward any improvements you make in your system now and in the future.
How would you be able to tell the regular Tekton DI’s from the DI SE version if you were just looking at them?
Additionally, What do the posts look like on the upgraded version?
Very difficult to tell by looking at them. The dimensions are slightly larger & weight heavier on SE's. Look on Tekton's site for exact specs... Posts are beautiful gold heavy duty....
@tommypenngotti just curious how the Tekton speakers are treating you? Still digging them? I auditioned the Electrons, but ultimately decided they weren't for me.

@gene3x The easiest way is to look at the 7 tweeter array. The DI tweeters are dimpled, the DI-SE tweeters are domed and smooth.

@audionoobie - I'm loving them , although I go through a weekly rant discussion with my sound engineer who recently bought the Harbeth 30.1s . He claims they are the most superior speaker in every way and speakers like the DI SEs are "hyped" :)
I think they sound great , but Im still investigating them, my system is not 100% complete yet...thanks
@mofojo - loving Tekton's ....Im in the process of upgrading my entire system ...overall , very happy with DI SEs ...thanks
@tommypenngotti  Great to hear! Can you share what upgrades you are making or are planning to make? Thanks.
