Ok people,
I've listened quite a bit this weekend, I've made recommendations, etc..
I desired a lp that would take me places I needed to be in order to (wrap) up my weekend..
I found it in Glen Hansard's tribute to Jason Molina .."It Was Triumph We Once Purposed.."
The 1st song.. "being In love" really sets the tone..
I'm now in heaven!
Please seek this on out.
Cheers!
|
"..being in love.....means that you are completely broken"...
WOW!!
|
"Tuft Sedge" Montrose............!
|
OK, I'll try to reign it in.
|
@reubent,
Thanks for the encouragement, although I seem to be pissing a lot of people off lately and would rather have my recommendations actually mean something instead of becoming a "rant".
I actually started a thread..."Song of the Day" way before this thread began that no one responded to, so I’m kind of trying to make up past time as well.
Lot’s of smiley faces!

Camper Van Beethoven "When I Win The Lottery"

"Pictures of Matchstick Men" from the same lp.

reubent,
Thanks for posting those links. I remember checking out their later releases a while back and it's been long enough now that I can't remember if they were available on vinyl at all, or just out at that time. They do have some great music. Love Cracker as well.

"No Anchovies, Please" How does one think up stuff like that outside of a dream?
|
reubent,
I listened some more to Dawg Yawp. I find them very interesting and certainly, they stand out from the crowd. I thought it could be worth buying (it is available on vinyl) but upon listening over Amazon, the SQ seemed too digital. Thanks for making us aware.
|
(Before I get any remarks about "too digital", let me explain. I have many digital recordings on vinyl. Some make the grade. Others do what some digital recordings do worse..... overall fatiguing to listen to or even start listening to, highlights the extremes of any frequency range as to make it unnatural, can be heard as "sterile or bright".)
