Ugh. Another amp opinion thread....$4500-ish.

But, not quite a "what amp should I buy" thread.  Looking for opinions/recommendations on worthwhile items to research, track down, and listen to in solid state, class A (or high A bias AB), 30w/8ohm or higher, dead quiet, reliable.  Balanced preferred, but not a deal-killer.

Not ready for class D.  Don't care if Bo thinks it's 2d.  Don't care if some other stuff measures better.  Don't care that they are inefficient.

Detailed, neutral to slightly warm, still dynamic.  $4500-ish or less, new or lightly used.  Or warnings to stay away from X brand/model (politely, please, no need to trash anyone, unless truly deserved!).  Or warnings that this is the wrong track, based on like experience.

Possibly pushing Tekton Impact Monitors, Canton Reference 5 in a small room, or possibly to-be-obtained Legacy Signature SEs.  Thinking maybe something along the lines of Pass XA or Luxman.

I appreciate suggestions or recommendations.

Thanks!

stfoth, I don't have any first hand knowledge on the Luxman M-600, other than to assume it's very, very good. I do own the Luxman L-590AX, which is their TOTL integrated, and I love it. Your list of 'wants' describe it perfectly, other than it being an integrated.
Good luck with your search,
L.
Looks like a nice deal for the Luxman, new.

For budget-minded, any love for Monarchy?  SM70 pros?  Either individually or as monoblocks?  Pretty sure I heard a bigger Monarchy, but it's been a long time and can't recall any associated speakers or gear.  I'd probably remember if it impressed me as awful.
Interesting variety of suggestions, at a wide price range!  I'd love to buy them all and try them all, but I'm not whitecamaro.  :)

@soix.  Have you tried Clayton gear?  Not very common, but the folks who've reported hearing them on the webs seem to almost universally like them, with the exception of some hum.

@lancelock.  Thanks!  They don't let me out of my West Coast cage very often.  What do you think of the Plinius with the DIs?  Looks like you're running LTA.

If you lived near me on the east coast you could come by and listen to a Plinius SA103 on my Tekton DI’s. 125 watts of class A
There's a rarely seen Clayton S40 available here now that's just what you're looking for.

There is a Mark Levinson No. 27 for sale on this site for $1500.  Class A - 100watts. Ships FedEx from Arizona. Great sound, superb build quality! Check it out!
