Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

astewart8944,

Thanks for the info! And your recent set lists are great also. Physical Graffiti has always been a favorite. And Zep's "Since I've been Loving You" is probaly the greatest Zep song ever. Still holds up today. Believe ghosthouse and arcamm88 mentioned it recently.

Today I'm into Wolfmother S/T. "Dimension" is a great cut.

gshephardbuster,

Thanks for the assist. Glad it's not just me, my hearing or my system. All of the Van Halen recordings, IMHO, could have been begter. I do like "Mean Street" from Fair Warning. It's a great song to play at high altitude.

I listened to Aranda, Stop the World. (2012) I really like their energy. "Hey Sally" and "Satisfied " are great but the whole CD is pretth good. Recorded well.

radfrad,

Nice session. I'm working on my pool so I just listened to Jimmy Buffet! Later i think I'll revisit some of your selections.

N
Steve Perry, Street Talk. Not a bad first solo effort. Believe it or not, I actually owned a copy of this on pre-recorded Cassette tape! Sounded great in my 77 Olds, Cutlass Supreme. 350 Rocket engine with a 4 barrell carb. Kenwood 3-way 6x9's. Pioneer super tuner tape deck and 200 watt Kenwood 7 band amplifier/equalizer!

N

Boston, S/T
One of the best recordings. Interestingly enough, Boston wasn't a real band. The albumn was recorded in by Tom Sultz alone on a multi track in his basement. What a fantastic and special sound!

Tom was an Engineer and and inventor as well. Please view the links!

John Geils of the J. Geils Band was found dead at his Massachusetts home by police Tuesday, authorities said.

Police responded to Geils' home on Graniteville Road for a well-being check around 4 p.m., according to the Groton Police Department. Upon their arrival, police found Geils unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The musician, whose full name is John Warren Geils Jr., was 71 years old. He is also listed as the homeowner of the house, police said.

Geils' death is under investigation because he was alone at the time of his death, but a preliminary investigation indicates that Geils died of natural causes, according to authorities. Foul play is not suspected at this time.

Further information on the incident was not immediately available.

Geils was the frontman for the J. Geils band, best known for the No. 1 single "Centerfold" from its 1981 album "Freeze Frame." The band is a nominee for the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Rest in Peace.

Are there any Blue Oyster Cult fans out there? I Just listened to Secret Treaties, again. It’s my favorite, a classic Cult! Not the best recording on CD, I do remember it being better on LP. "Career of evil", any albumn with these lyrics:

"...I’d like your blue eyed horseshoe, I’d like your emerald horny toad. I’d like to do it to your daughter on a dirt road..." has to be great. Right? Don't forget " Dominance and Submission". Great song great guitar work and vocal effects.

Onto-
Agents of fotrune, "Don’t fear ths reaper" and others
Mirrors, is great too. "Vigil" and "I am the storm" and others.

I could be here all day.

Slaw,
Sorry for the delayed reply. I concur,  Boz Scaggs laid down the original "Loan me a dime". ghosthouse and I were also compairing the two versions in a PM. We agreed the original including Duane Allman was the better.

Live, The Distance to here.
Wow, Edward Kowalczykz, what can you say.
Morrow Audio made the local news again in Cincinnati. I saw a staff member on a morning Fox News show a few years back promoting local small business owners.
Looks like he's done it again. Nice little record shop this time.  Both his cable operation and the record store are within minutes from my home. I'm glad to see him expanding his operation. (I'm not affiliated with Morrow Audio)
