Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

jafant,

I have not heard "13" but now that you've recommend it I will. Thanks.
Dio sings 2 great songs on Kansas' Kerry Livgren's solo albumn, "Mask of the great deceiver " and "To live for the king". Really great vocal work and the CD is recorded like those old Kansas albumns. There is a great cut that Steve Walsh sings on also.

gshephardbuster,

Thats a great Garbage selection!

Today I won 2 tickets to see Pat Travers in Versailles, OH on Thursday. It's 2.5 hrs each way. Don't know if I have the mojo for the trip. I never thought I would win!
Decisions decisions.....  So I  listened to some PHT "Live, Go for what you know".

Should I stay or should I go...

N
I concur- Nutty.

Paul Butterfield Blues Band, "The Resurrection of Pigboy Crabshaw"
jafant,

Black Sabbath is great. The first albumn is unrivaled, IMO. I do like Dio also. That albumn has some guts. Always liked "Chilxren of the sky".

Nutty hadn't seen that one.

My Muse collection is pretty complete but a Muse GH CD done well sounds like a winner.
mapman,

Muse has a Greatist Hits 2 CD set. It includes some cuts from Drones also. Most greatist hits collections don't measure up and usually leave us wondering why certain songs were omitted. Well this CD delivers! Great sonics, great tracking list.

N
Muse The Resistance.   Audiophiles that love good pop/rock music,  classical music,  the bombast of  Queen and good sound will love this one.
Aphex Twin 'Cheetah'

Autechre 'Elseq 1-5'

Jean Michel Jarre 'Equinox'

Aphex Twin 'Analord series 1-11'
The Pixies, "Monkey gone to heaven" Love the bass player Kim Deal.
Black Sabbath, "War Pig". Geezer Butler, one of the superior bass players of all time. Pick any track, listen to the bass line.
The White Stripes - Meg White. Hey, a band is only as good as their drummer, right? "Fell in love with a girl", "Icky Thumps". Jack s abilities are obviously unique as well.
Wilco, "Impossible Germany". Nels Cline is kind of their secret weapon.
Pantera, "Cemetery Gates". Rex Brown’s vocals are mazing.
Led Zepplin, "Whole lotta love". John Paul Jones very underated. Bass, Keyboards and songwriter. Collaborating with Lenny Kravitz and Dave Grohl in Them Crooked Vulchars.

Andrew Bird "Armchair Apocrypha"
Gomez "A New Tide"

If you like to try different types of music....
Mott The Hoople, All the young dudes.

Jethro Tull, A little light music.
Recorded Live in several different countries, this albumn is great. It's a collection of semi acoustic songs. So if you like Tull, you will love this. If you like live recorded music, this one is for you.

N
Of Monsters and Men "Beneath The Skin"
Sting "Mercury Fallin'"
Dave Alvin "Eleven Eleven"
I should add, Derek Sherinian formerly of Dream Theater, on keyboards with BCC
above.
