Best U.S.A. speakers?

HI,What are the ten top best speakers made in the united states?

Surely Bose hasn't been left off this list? Might as well include them. Every other
US built speaker is on the list, and the Bose 901 were mighty popular in their
day. Only $476/pair in 1975!

No Bose fanboys around?
I'll own up to it.

Bought a pair of Bose 901 (first series) when I was in the Navy; Norfolk, Virgina in 1971.

And you're right, they were $476/pr.

Drove (well tried to drive) them with a Harmann Kardon Citation 12 (60WPC). Preamp was the matching Citation 11.

How about Gilmore Audio?
Your post made me wonder about them. There was a big buzz about the Gilmore speakers three years back, and I heard them at CES with Abe playing bass through the Model 2. From their web site:

Model 2: was $19,950/pair - now $12,950/pair

I guess their strange looks never gathered many converts.

If you heard them you'd realize looks had nothing to do with it.
Merlin, Nola (a.k.a Alon), Thiel, Vandersteen, Magnaplanar and Devore. I've not yet heard Zus, but they appear to have a growing following.
