Are future improvements in Amp/PreAmps slowing to a crawl?

What are you calling the "live cue"? I've got a Pass F5 clone and a pair of Focal 936's in my room and they already do what you're talking about. There is no mistaking the depth of field or vertical and lateral location of sounds even well beyond the speaker boundaries. The F5's distortion can be driven down as low as .001%, but I actually run it with a bit more distortion because it sounds better. It's not sounding to me like you're on to anything new.

It sounds like you have a great system and I'm sure you are happy with it.
The only thing I can tell you is I had a level of purity that I never thought could get better - then the latest version of the process that has a much tighter auto focus system was put in and wow I ended up with quite a jump in the believably and ghost like imaging. My speakers disappeared completely and seemed to have nothing to do with what I was listening to.

Anyhow good luck to you perhaps you will have a chance down the road to hear H-CAT.

In fact if you don't mind - contact my web site or email me and let me know where you are located.

It's decent. I like it. It's got a long way to go though. Legal stuff is jamming me up on getting started on line level stuff. I need to seriously evaluate my options on that front. This amp is has crazy bandwidth and I need to pair it with something that treats highs tenderly.

Sorry. Your prices are way out of my league. I can build some very nice pre-amps and mono-blocks for price you want for a pre-amp. My F5 cost less that $1000 to build and it's a very nice amp.
