Your advice to speakers designers

What would it be?
I'd say - instead of building great furniture that also happens to sound good give us great sounding speakers that also happen to be acceptable furniture.

I buy Focals so the look and sound great. I guess my advice to the others would be to stop trying to build the weirdest looking cabinets imaginable. I'm thinking of those Vivids that look like turds or gourds or whatever. And GoldenEar with their pillar in a tube sock style. Is anything more "furniture that makes sound" than big Tannoys? Those things always remind me of early 20th century TVs with their giant overwrought cabs, except somebody replaced the round picture tube with a giant cone. And of my God, how could I forget the latest offerings from B&O. They remind me of what you get when you crush a metal tube in a press and that's not a soothing shape to me. So yeah.... Spare me the pointlessly weird shapes and textures.
Yeah, some speakers do look weird. I don't mind it if there is a good reason for that.
Check out the latest issue of TAS - there on the cover is a real "monster" of a speaker: the new Wilson Chronosonic!!! With its grills off it looks like the ALIEN about to pounce and devour the hapless listener! Jeez, speaker design has reached a new height of ugliness! Sure, it has the ultimate WOW factor, but it would give your domestic partner a simultaneous coronary and stroke if you brought it home! Wait for the optional backhoe attachment to go along with those hefty sub's - to dig a deeper foundation for bass response!
