Mc makes some kilowatt+ amps. The most powerful mobile amp I've ever seen was 10,000 watts. I have no idea what people do with 1,000 watts. I'm using a 32 watt amp and want for nothing more. 

(1) For audio performance, WPC (watts per channel) alone is isolation is meaningless .... full stop.

(2) A high current quality build (Emphasis added ,,,,because you only get what you pay for in this hobby cuz they are always built to their price-point...) AND a high current power amplifier  will take you to the next level. Think Amps ..... not watts.

(3) setting aside the weaknesses and warts introduced by your unique listening arena , your speaker efficiency will greatly influence how much power you need to make them sing.

Car amp marketing and nomenclature almost always take the continuous power output and the dynamic power output and add those numbers together then they times that by the number of channels to get one overall total power output number. This is misleading (imo) and why they can make claims of 1K or 5K or 10K watts for there amplifiers.
