A sour note on this: maybe the latest bunch of counterfeit's from China... ??? They may actually BE the real cables being made 'under the table'...
A real problem. I would want to be certain the seller was an 'authorised dealer' in any deal on "new' cables that are over a hundred bucks...
ANYTHING with a superficially easy to copy appearance that costs a bundle is ripe for counterfitting.

When a mini-manufacturer could gear up and make phoney items for a fraction of the cost of the real thing.. it will happen.
And with cables.. What percent buying would spot it instantly?? 5%??
