| ELP laser turntable - any comments? Userchallenged, The Walker isolators contribute the least amount of weight in this set up, just a few pounds for sausage sized PVC tank, some hoses and three pods. Holding them in my hands last year, I would guess the whole thing at 20 pounds. The ... | |
| ELP laser turntable - any comments? I would have to guess, I have never weighed it. Probably between 400 and 450 pounds. I did not see the model that supports 700 pounds. Guess I should have another look at the site. | |
| ELP laser turntable - any comments? I just took a look at MinusK web site. Unfortunately the upper weight limit is 100 pounds. Great for most turntables but not for a Walker. Thank you for the info though, it's a fascinating concept. | |

| Are Speaker Cables Longer than 6 FT. Superior? By the way, if you doubt what these cable manufacturers are telling you about lengths, should you believe everything else they tell you?For the record, my cable manufacturer DID recommend I go with long interconnect and short speaker cable. Same s... | |
| Are Speaker Cables Longer than 6 FT. Superior? I agree with Justin_time, short speaker cables and long interconnects. My interconnects are 36 feet from preamp to amps and no issues other than expense. However, it was MUCH less expensive than long speaker cable would have been. | |
| ICEpower Digital Switching Amps? Pat,I would love to listen. Just give me a call.As for changing speakers, I had Sound-Labs for more than 15 years and will probably be buried with my Dali Megalines. I don't swap around much as you well know. Better to keep a constant concerted ef... | |
| Whats your opinion of modern horn loudspeakers? Johnk, Yes I have heard the Avantgarde, Oris and Azura horns and the Edgars. All are different from each other and from other speaker designs. Although they do some things very well, there is a particular, easily identifiable personality all these... | |
| DIY speakers vertical array a la "pipedreams" syst Essentialaudio, I don't disagree with your priorities, I just don't expect everyone has the budget for a top tier speaker.Getting a young guy or gal into a DIY speaker that keeps the light burning for high end is a very worthwhile idea. When I was... | |
| ICEpower Digital Switching Amps? My goodness ! Ar_t is a guy I have known for a very long time. In fact, the image on his web site was photographed by me in my photo studio. However, I cannot discuss how this amp performs, I have not listened to it. It might be fun and certainly p... | |
| Whats your opinion of modern horn loudspeakers? I heard nice sound in the Acapella room at CES. They are a very new design, something called spherical horns. As a rule I don't like horns, but these were very high quality and did some amazing things.Acapella | |
| DIY speakers vertical array a la "pipedreams" syst Essentialaudio, agreed, but the FredArray looks like (after quick calculations) to top out around $750.00 for the pair (plus sweat equity). That's less than a pair of Vandy 2's.The idea is not to compete with Pipedreams, they already have their re... | |

| Schroeder arms: order of merit? Just curious guys, I just read this whole stream of posts and wonder what extremes everyone went through to get these various arms set up and working their best. The Graham in particular, I have owned three, is an excellent arm. Having switched to ... | |
