Best sacd player
Jtinn, you have me on "record" that EMM is better? Where, when? If you refer to my statement about Meitner being absolutely the best out there, you should note the "all-solid-state" and "for whatever it is". Yes, for all-solid-state and for whatev...
Sony Legacy SACD Players - SCD-1, 777ES, XA-777ES
So help you God!Regards,Alex
Esoteric DV-50: Any cdp's Significantly better?
Reb1208, please note the "all solid state"...:-)No, Meitner it not better than the best analog setups...but...$20K vinyl setup recorded on 96/24 DVD-A sounds the same trough my 3910 compared to the original...:-)...same system, same cables, same s...
Esoteric DV-50: Any cdp's Significantly better?
Mgottlieb, I hope you are right...:-) It would probably be best to work with the UX-1 because it is universal player and has exactly the same transport as X-01.Will see...:-)Regards,Alex
Denon 2910 and 3910 upsample redbook??
Ron, I would LOVE to put my Denon 3910 against the dCS because I already know how it compares to DAC6e. I've heard it here in my own system. Please let me know if that can be arranged. Thank you!Regards,Alex

Mgottlieb, I would have to agree with you! This is the reason why I can not wait to put my hands on and re-designin X-01 similar to what I do with the Denon machines. Of course, it will turn out very expensive, but having the best transport in the...

Reb1208, have you heard SACD playback with Meitner digital products? There is nothing out there in its stock form to outperform it. May be there are just a couple to have "better" CD playback, but the difference is so subtle that it fails in perso...
Sony Legacy SACD Players - SCD-1, 777ES, XA-777ES
All of the Sony players you've mentioned have reliability issues - some more, some less. From you list (and if it's a must) I'd go for the SCD-777ES. It is the same machine as SCD-1 less the Balanced output. Since the Balanced output is derived fr...
Denon 2910 and 3910 upsample redbook??
Daltonlanny, there are many digital players out there to "up-sample" to 96 or 192. What I am saying applies for all of them. Example that comes to mind is Audio Aero Capitole (or whatever). It is so irritating that I can not listen to it for more ...
Denon 2910 and 3910 upsample redbook??
Meisterkleef I agree with you. Of course the Digital Filters (stand alone or built in the DAC) do not have the ability to perform non-linear interpolation. You are also right that the data truncation is happening in low-order bits but it's still p...
Denon 2910 and 3910 upsample redbook??
No 2910 and 3910 do not up-sample Redbook. 3910 converts Redbook from 16 to 24 bit using 32 bit ADSP. Of course, at least 8 times linear oversampling is done in the Digital filter for CD which is a feature of the actual DAC. Further more the overs...
Esoteric DV-50: Any cdp's Significantly better?
Agreed, there is no better "all solid state" than Meitner out there. I've heard it in my own system. It was the new DAC6e and highly modded (by me) SACD1000 transport. It sounded phenomenal (for what it is)! This also proves the fact that, with tod...

Esoteric DV-50: Any cdp's Significantly better?
Guidocorona and others who sugested using the VRDS; Thank you I appreciate it! I have already thought about it, but it will take substantial investment in building a player like that. I am personaly thinking of re-designing X-01 first and see what...

AVGURU, It is interesting to read your comments. You are right, we should not turn this to something we do not want to...:-). The truth (my truth) is that I have seen with my own eyes a Spectral Analysis of re-sampled CD with sample by sample accu...
