The Future of Audio Amplification
So that makes the scan frequency in this example only 200KHz(!), Wrong again when have you seen an amp that can do 200khz, have a slewing audio frequency square wave like this, the sides are collapsing in like the leaning tower of pizzaI think ...
This question is aimed to TRUE Elec Engineers, not fuse or wire directionality believers.
Has anyone used one of these before:https://holtonprecisionaudio.com/collections/diy-audio-products/products/audio-solid-state-relay-hpa...Not used it but I see no reason why it shouldn't work just fine.

SSR is unfamiliar to me, but from your post, did you mean 'SCR'? The latter were used in crowbar circuits for speaker protection...
The Future of Audio Amplification
Wrong!!! look at it and think again. It’s Stereophiles, there’s your hint, they’ve NEVER EVER given a Class-D 20khz square wave, as it would look unrecognizable as a square wave. https://www.stereophile.com/images/1212AM1fig03.jpgYou are corre...
Does anyone care to ask an amplifier designer a technical question? My door is open.
Just because they make a difference it does not follow that a power cord does. In power cables there is not much to measure and a lot of other wire to consider. I would not base an assessment of a power cord on the effects of interconnects or sp...

And let me say, what ever you look at, these are both pathetic looking square wave shots, even for an old cheap 1970’s solid state amp to be producing,This is the link about which this comment is made:https://www.stereophile.com/images/1212AM1fi...

@georgehifiInstead of made up stories, just stick to the facts. If the filter is not used on the AP, it goes into slewing protection. We don't use a filter since we are using oscilloscopes; any waveforms we see have the residual sine wave imposed. ...
Nottingham Spacedeck vs Rega Planar 8 vs Technics SL1200G
In your opinion, what mat would you use on the Technics SL1200G?The one we use is made by Oracle. A good mat is the same hardness as the vinyl of the LP.
The Future of Audio Amplification
Haven’t found a digital which can compete. Most digital are to clean for my ear. Sterile with no decaying harmonic structure, creating too much dead time, are the words I believe you should be using.Dead time is part of the design of the amp, not ...
Nottingham Spacedeck vs Rega Planar 8 vs Technics SL1200G
The Technics is the most speed stable of the three. Its also very well damped (so more locked-in sound stage and better bass). The platter pad does not do the machine justice and should be changed out. Its also possible to change out the arm; we'v...
Mixing balanced and unbalanced inputs/outputs on Ayre preamp - amateur question!
Im simply saying that people believe that anything with an xlr input or output is better than single ended and this is short sighted of the rest of the design of the unit. There are great designs that are single ended and great designs that a...
The Future of Audio Amplification
@kosst_amojanThe Berning TF-10 is a tube preamp with about 10 tubes in it. It draws about 60 watts; that's about the same as my laptop charger. Panasonic came out with a new formula for electrolytic capacitors some years back that allowed them to ...
Does anyone care to ask an amplifier designer a technical question? My door is open.
What Al said- The issue here is something called 'characteristic impedance'. The BNCs are designed for cables with a characteristic impedance of either 50 or 75 ohms. Without getting into the designer's head, it uncertain what CI the RCA connectio...
Horn listeners - Do you have trouble listening to others?
@erik_squires My GF and I have no troubles conversing while playing my system. Glare is not universal with any technology. Certainly not horns. I've heard some solid state amps that are glare-free too (considerably more rare). Glare IME is an indi...
Mixing balanced and unbalanced inputs/outputs on Ayre preamp - amateur question!
However, Ill forever disagree that balanced is always better for short runs as some of the worlds finest gear is unbalanced internally and sounds well, world class still.  @frostdotcomFor example the Ampex 351 tape electronics. But if you examin...
