| McCormack DNA-1 vs. DNA-125 I had DNA-0.5 Deluxe, DNA-125 and DNA-225. DNA-125 and 225 sound pretty different. I had both at the same time. I liked the sound of DNA-225 much better than the 0.5 Deluxe or DNA-125 for that matter. It was smoother, deeper and overall a very nic... | |
| McIntosh Amp Ratings I understand McInotsh amps have a certain following, but Undertow, what you're saying makes little or no sense. Other amps sound constipated? Wow. That totally contradicts my observation, which is McIntosh amps sound fine with an easy load speaker... | |
| 803D or 802D I don't think your amplification is up to it for either 803D or 802D. It is proper for your current speakers though. So if you want satisfaction from 803D or 802D, pick your speaker and then start thinking of amplifier upgrade sometime soon.I mean... | |
| Power cable for McCormack DNA-1 14awg was the original. If you want a nice power cord for it, Audience powerChord always worked good on my McCormack amps(DNA-0.5Deluxe, DNA-125 and 225). | |
| Are upgraded power cables really worth the money? Based on your components, I would try Audience powerChord. These should also do good on the amplifier. You should be able to determine with these power cords what they do and do you like what they do. they can easily be resold. | |
| Tube smell? could it be that you have counterfeit tubes? if that's the case the ink they used to relabel the tubes may be burning off and projecting that smell. Sounds weird, but it is remote possibility...... | |
| Tube Pre-amp BAT, ARC, EAR, Sonic Frontiers ARC LS* and REF preamps are balanced, same as BAT. On balanced ARC preamps there is actually a switch that you have to set to "Balanced" if you are running with XLRs. BAT just doesn't provide RCA ins/outs, but they do provide an XLR-RCA adapters, ... | |
| Synergistic New Tesla Line...Any comments? Yep. Euphoria is a wonderful thing...while it lasts. | |
| Synergistic New Tesla Line...Any comments? you are not contributing to hype. You have positive results and that's good. Some other people on this thread are hyping things up. | |
| Synergistic New Tesla Line...Any comments? It is fun watching this thread. The amount of hype this new Line of SR cables is capable of generating is quiet amazing. Typical for audiphile community, but still very entertaining to follow. | |
| The vicissitudes of listening to classical music check this out for solution:1)get a Squeezebox SB3(if you have a router). You can even use it wired with ethernet cable.2) Sell your Drecco integrated and get a standalone, dedicated 2-ch amplifier, such as McCormack DNA-1 Deluxe, McCormack DNA-0.... | |
| The vicissitudes of listening to classical music Cayin tube integrated amps are pretty good and should be within your price range. I would start with a tube integrated and may be change the dac later on.Also, is there a wall behind the speakers? If so, experiment with a piece of dense fabric(som... | |
| Pass Labs Power Cord Tvad, thanks. In my system the results were similar. On CDP and preamp, aftermarket power cords are more beneficial in my system. But I still do want to try that ESP Essence Reference. | |
| Pass Labs Power Cord Tvad, I'd be surprised if Volex sounds like Dominus. It definitely should not, considering the price difference. But then again, if there is a difference, is it worth the price of admission? That's for you to decide. However, please do let us know... | |
| Pass Labs Power Cord Armandito, I have tried Shunyata Taipan Helix Alpha and Audience on my X250.5I don't know how your X350 responds to power cords, but my X250.5 shows a very slight difference between a $6 Volex cord and a Shunyata or Audience. The sonic difference ... |
