sleepwalker65355 posts01-09-2019 10:26pmI hope you weren’t using a bulk tape eraser. Those are way too powerful to demagnetize a tape deck, and have pretty short duty cycles  No its a head demagnetizer with the rubber coated tip.
Skeptic or just plain hard headed
Update: So on my main system I have removed both the Morrow Audio cable and the Makenzie cable. Replaced with an Audio Quest Water series cable (the ones with the battery packs). Another poster commented on and Im paraphrasing here "what’s up with...

@cleeds  there are are some that think demagnetizing tape heads is not s good practice. Their words. Not mine. I was just curious to know how he felt about it. So you make a good point. I will never try it “myself” if it gets done it will be part ...

@johnss i have ave heard of the Doing the Vishay. Have not pushed it however. I’m not having a problem with much noise since I have been recording at 7.5. At the faster speed my recordings sound much much better. I was interested in the DBX mainly...

Im also seeing a couple of the Type A systems but nothing that looks like it will work with my consumer electronics. The Type A encoder/decoder looks promising, but Im not sure I can find one. Both good looking options. Thanks again. I will let yo...
