Critique my media server setup!
The Oppo Sonica ($800) might work.  Just verify the UMS compatibility.  Also, note that the Sonica does not currently support gapless playback from all sources.Another idea would be the Bluesound Node2 ($500), provided it can work with UMS servers.
Melco N1A Music Server
I have a Vortexbox appliance, a pretty cheap and cheerful server with an internal HD, 1 TB.  Well, it died.  The manufacturer (Small Green Computer) basically sold me a new one with a big discount (my original unit was out of warranty).  Fortunate...
Which Budget Friendly Floorstanders Next?
Ohm Walsh 2000.  Golden Ear (any model in your budget).  Both are what I would call "different".
Ohm Acoustics introduces its 20/20k beta speakers
At the Ohm prices, I doubt it.  The drivers in the x000 line are fairly standard woofer/midrange drivers.  I was once told that mine (Walsh 2000) were aluminum, but they sure don't sound like aluminum drivers.  John Strohbeen of Ohm does not use c...
Subwoofer recommendation
Vandersteen 2Wq - if you can accommodate its unique connection requirements.  I own two and absolutely love them.
Any experience with Ohm Walsh Super Sound Cylinders?
I have had the 2000s since the fall of 2009 - one of the earlier production pairs.  I have a full review posted in the review section, and have been active in the big Ohm thread - https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/ohm-walsh-micro-talls-who-s-...
Review of Legacy Audio Signature SE and dealer Audio Doctor
The Legacy Aeris is a real dream speaker for me (winning the Lottery would do the trick).  Really sounded great at an audio show.
Sherwood Newcastle P965 PreAmp Processor - No Audio Problem
I used to have this pre-pro.  Have you reached out to Sherwood?  They were very helpful whenever I needed help.  Perhaps this is a software glitch that can be fixed with an update.
Need Power Amp advice
I second the Odyssey Audio Khartago amp suggestion.  You get an in-home trial period, so you only have the shipping charges to lose.  I have been using an Odyssey HT3 for ~11 years now.  Love it.
Bluesound Node 2 and great customer service
Thanks again, 2psyop. I use the SBT with a DAC, a highly modded Beresford called the Superberry by K-Works, a local modder. It sounds very good, but my original SBT died, while Logitec still supported it, so they sent me a new one. I know that won...
Best one step liquid record cleaner.???
I use the Audio Intelligent #6 One Step as well, and have for years.  I can't compare to anything else, but it certainly seems to work well for me.
Sweet Vinyl Sugarcube - I Want It!!!
Yes, enginedr1960, as long as you use an Apple computer (I do not).  Are the track tagging and click &pop removal automated, or manual?
Sweet Vinyl Sugarcube - I Want It!!!
Just an update - The SweetVinyl folks have made some hardware revisions (including the ability to adjust recording level and balance via the app - yes!), so the release has been delayed. I would rather they get it right than I get it right now, so...
Bluesound Node 2 and great customer service
Thanks, 2psyop!  That's exactly what I needed to know.  If my Squeezebox craps out (or if I just get tired of waiting until I can buy a DAC that goes higher res than 96/24), the Node2 looks like just the ticket.  I have heard it front very expensi...
Bluesound Node 2 and great customer service
Thanks for the post, 2psyop.  Quick question - is the Node 2 capable of gapless playback?  TIA.
