| Why are audiophiles perceived as being wackos? That fat guy in the Nordost ad dancing because he bought $3,000 Nordost speaker wire. | |
| Tinnitus - do you have ringing in the ears? Here is an article pretty worthless information | |
| First Order Crossovers: Pros and Cons Perhaps the single driver IS the perfect solution. They just don't want people to know. Satisfied people don't need to upgrade every few months. What happened to the "edit my post" feature so I don't have to post twice. | |

| First Order Crossovers: Pros and Cons Greg, I like the concept. The equation I use is 1,100/ freq = wavelength (ft). So a 2" driver would start to beam at 8K. How do you align the drivers? If you use a 1" tweeter I would think you get a flare if you drop it in at under 13K.My concept ... | |
| First Order Crossovers: Pros and Cons Thanks Skrivis and Gregm. I have tried twice to respond but both times, 15 minutes into my response my computer crashes from doing Ebay auction at the same time. So I give up. | |
| Digital Amp's Third Audioengr's comments. Also they are really fussy about getting clean power. I could not run my PS Audio through my Tripp-Lite surge protector - even with dedicated line. But for good sound on the cheap, not bad. | |
| Please recommend components for newbie with $1K Epos M12 or ES11 speakers. Try them with your Scott tube amp before chucking it. Integra is really bright to my ears. Creek A50 integrated sells for ~$500 used at Audiogon and is voiced for the Epos. | |
| First Order Crossovers: Pros and Cons Gregm, that's interesting about the Jordans. Is this a baffle step compensation if they are not put up against the wall?In my limited experience with single driver speakers, the biggest shortcoming IMHO, and this is highly listener dependent; is l... | |
| PMC vs. ATC You're right Brizon, we're all in collusion against you. Stereophile is out to get you too. You've gotta check out Audio Asylum. I can just imagine you and RGA going at it!Happy 7 day anniversary as an Audiogon member :-). | |
| PMC speakers vs B&W... has anyone compared? How can a speaker be slow and dry? They are opposites. Slow = big bloated bass with little damping. Dry = fast bass which is lean so sounds light. For amps, Naim gear is dry, Unison gear is slow. | |
| PMC vs. ATC I have listened to ATC active 10's, 20's and 100's in people's homes. They are definitely not bright with rock music let alone "nails on a chalkboard". Thiels, Triangle, B & W, Energy, Monitor Audio - these are bright speakers. With Naim pre a... | |
| First Order Crossovers: Pros and Cons So what makes a time and phase coherent 1st order speaker better than a single driver design like Jordan JX92s or Fostex F200A? Jordan has NO crossover, no components in the signal path to create distortion, no driver blending problems, etc. etc.S... | |
| PMC vs. ATC Active ATC's have plenty of bass and are not bright. Passive ATC sound pleasant but really do not show what ATC is capable of. | |
| PMC speakers vs B&W... has anyone compared? Nautilus euphonic HUH???? More like analytical and if anything mechanical sounding. Nautilus have precision soundstaging and disappear almost as well as small monitor speakers. Nautilus produces a wall of sound and pressurize small room quit well.... |
