@luizfcoimbra I will completely disregard cart/tonearm/phono synergy and compatibility issues and give you the most honest answer that I can, having myself bought and/or experienced a variety of cartridges ranging from U$200,00 to U$10,000: YES, ...
Cartridges: Complete Scam?
It's getting snowing in here. The question reminds me the way of thinking of some new russians who're making their decision by the price. The higher the price for each component in high-end audio the better the quality (in their opinion). The only...
who knows ZYX retipping or refurbish ?
Yes, 60% or even more, but only if you send them back broken cartridge with valid serial number. I actually sent my broken Premium 4D, but then i gave up on ZYX. I believe each distributor can do more or less to help their customers. I'm pretty su...

Cartridges: Complete Scam?
@cd318 The biggest step up is from conical to spherical stylus. Well, i’m not sure about it :)Conical = Spherical, it's just two names of the same thing.
Cartridges: Complete Scam?
@madavid0  Multiple people told me they perffered thier old vintage cartridges over modern laser-cut boron-necked diamonds. In the 70's Technics used laser technology to make a tiny hole in the hollow pipe boron cantilever to mount their nude di...

Ortofon SPU with 12 inch Jelco arm?
That’s what the dealers tells to their customers when selling the SPU Classics, i was hooked, but i didn’t worked out for me. The terms "warm and musical" sounds much better in my mind, but in reality i would not call the sound of SPU Classics "mu...
Ortofon SPU with 12 inch Jelco arm?
Ok, i owned ZYX Premium 4D and ZYX Airy III models and do not regret than i sold both SPU Classic MKII and even rare SPU Spirit LTD with elliptical profile, the Royal with Replican 100 is better than both of them and perfect for vintage vinyl. I d...
Sansui SR-222 mK IV Stylus replacement (GLANZ MFG 11T Replacement)
Personally i prefer Galnz MF61, the lower models are much cheaper and you can find Glanz topic here on audiogon. Maybe Glanz 310 or 610 are still available on ebay from Japan, those two are the best you can buy now.
Recommend which SPU?
So what is the charm of the oldschool SPU, i just don’t get it. Heavy low compliance monster that track with 4g with generic stylus profile and very thin frequency response, there is something in the mid range, but when you play same records on th...
Ortofon SPU with 12 inch Jelco arm?
@racedoc Thirdly in our experience the SPUs give a great value for moneyplus they are outstanding in playing old analog recordings. Could you explain why do you think the elliptical profile is outstanding in playing old records? Those used recor...
