| Beatles: Mono a Mono Hi Jim, As with my assessment of the 87 stereo CD's vs the new stereo remastered CDs, the mono remasters of the first four are superior in every way to the 87 mono cd's exactly as described by Jaybo. The new remasters sound like the albums I liste... | |
| Is this clipping or just high SPL? Hard to say if it's the amp or the speakers, but next time don't let 10 seconds elapse before turning the volume down. | |
| Do tubes need break in / burn in? 12AX7 has a gain factor of 100, while a 5751 has a gain factor of 70, which may be the reason that your preamp sounds so poorly. Try using some NOS 12AX7's instead of the 5751's. | |

| Beatles Remasters: Mono vs. Stereo Debate Thread Barrelchief, as of now, mono versions are only available by purchasing the boxed set. Originally limited to 10,000 sets in the USA, now supposedly issuing 50,000 mono boxed sets. | |
| New Beatles remasters No matter what, they are never going to sound like the master tapes. The remasters sound great in both the mono and stereo versions. Stop relying on articles and let your ears decide!! | |
| How to listen to the Beatles re-releases? Mapman, remember Ringo starred in the movie "Caveman". I think the cavemen would have also enjoyed the "White Album", probably the mono version. | |
| How to listen to the Beatles re-releases? Audiofeil, the fact that even a caveman could make those points could mean that Chashnal is evolving?? On second thought, NAH!!! | |
| Anti-Cabls Ic's alternatives? I have Anticable interconnects and they are fine. When I first installed it, it did hum a bit, but all I had to do was move it away from the other cables a bit and all was well. They are so inexpensive, it's worth taking the chance anyway!! They a... | |
