| What tonearms work with denon 103r? Stringreen, you and Raul should get along fine. :-)I can disprove what you've said about poor dynamics and limited bandwidth within 10 minutes of listening to my stock 103r. But it is more than just having the cartridge attached to a good arm. The... | |
| What tonearms work with denon 103r? I was never satisfied with the 103r and the 2.2. Even a Rega RB300 worked better with the 103r. The 103r will sound much better on an arm that can control it better. For me the 2.2 seemed to work better with more compliant cartridges. | |
| What is the ideal weight/mass for a turntable? I don't know if there is an "ideal" weight. But if there is one it is significantly more than the weight of your P9. ;-) Just kidding, slightly. | |
| Blue Note 45rpm reissue Thanks Rushton,I had read that but didn't really know what the mono distribution was within the series. | |
| Blue Note 45rpm reissue Thanks Davt! I signed up while the wife wasn't looking. No biggy, she'll be happy I'm not spending mega-bucks on equipment this time. :-)The mono vs. stereo "issue" is addressed on the website. It doesn't matter much to me but may provide an excus... | |
| Blue Note 45rpm reissue Are most of these mono? Is there a "best way" to order the lot of them? | |
| Arcam phono board - problems I think you're just hearing the gain stage in the phono card. Remember that phono signals must be amplified much more than digital sources. It could be ground issue, but if it's barely audible at normal listen volume I suspect not. | |
| Suspended vs. non suspended turntable Amfibius, I don't know if you've said this before or not but have you had any experience with vinyl? | |
| Galibier owners How do you like your music now? I'll leave that question for Thom. When I ordered my Gavia I already had a Triplanar so I just went with the Stelvio armboard. I was familiar with the benefits of a heavier platter so again I just chose the Gavia platter. I often wonder how the St... | |
| Suspended vs. non suspended turntable OH, BOY! Now we get to spend $17K of someone else's money! While I ponder my version of a shopping list I'll throw out some more things that can be pondered while visiting the porcelain throne.I'm not intending to pick on Dgarretson here. I'm just... | |
| Tubes vs. Panels? Ah, that's probably the reason for the suggestion to use some type of plastic sheeting around 1/2 the diameter. Supposedly, you can tune the amount of reflection by turning the tube trap. I did that on some of my traps but I have to admit I was no... | |
| Tubes vs. Panels? Don't know what Nsgarch replied, but his description makes perfect sense to me in light of Jon Risch's tube trap recipe. Half solid, half open means to me that if you look at the tube from one end then 1/2 the diameter is filled with material and ... | |
| Tracking Force By "hilly ones" I assume you mean warped. If it were me, I'd keep the VTF at a more reasonable setting and find a better copy of those warped LPs. You may not be hurting the records but you are squashing the life out of the cartridge's suspension.... | |
| Suspended vs. non suspended turntable It's not really over-analyzing. Moving the table, or allowing it to move, is exactly the principal behind a suspension. The idea is to sink the vibrations into the suspension, which I believe are eventually transfered into heat from the friction i... | |
| Suspended vs. non suspended turntable Raul, how do you say "blah" in Spanish? ;-) |
