| Dealers hijacking the discussions 1-Frankly, the issue with Audiotroy's posts are not his initial posts; it's the pissing contests that result when gpgr4blu decides to weigh in. If gpgr4blu would take a flyer, I guarantee Audiotroy wouldn't post ad infinitum defending his positi... | |
| Wilson Sasha 2 Pre owned? Any post that is not specifically answering the posted question is spam, and unwanted. As such, half of this thread would not be missed if it were deleted. Are there moderators here that can remove these types of posts? | |
| The longest you have owned any gear? Hafler DH 220 amp since 1984. NAD 1130 pre-amp and Spica TC-50 speakers since 1987 | |
| Greatest Rock Drummers There is sizzle and there is steak...one mention of Steve Gadd, but no mentions of Bernard Purdie who can include Jeff Beck, Steely Dan, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, etc on his resume. Spent a wonderful evening at Shanghai Jazz in NJ sitting 2... | |
| Why don't amplifier Companies use high end fuses? Or perhaps the higher end fuses change the sound of the component away from the desired sound the designer seeks...if I were an amplifier designer and changing fuses either didn't drastically effect the sound at all in my view or into a direction ... | |
| My Home Speakers, My Car, and Me...The Ballad of What's Going Wrong? I would echo Handymann's suggestion of inverting the room with the speakers where you now have your sofa and the sofa where you have the speakers.. | |
| What is your speaker ownership history since 1995? In 1987 I bought a used pair of Spica TC-50s (with stands). Still have them. Last year I bought a one owner pair of Magnepan 1.5 QRs, and use them exclusively with the Spica's as a back up should anything arise. Also have owned Grado SR 125s for m... | |
| Would "Sgt. Pepper's" be a better album if..... Actually I think Within You Without You is far and away the best song on the album and, in hindsight, one of the very best Beatles’ songs. That said, Sgt Pepper was an album that was more influential than good (compare the 1963 Beatles with the 19... | |
| What have I missed in the last 12 years? rhum runner-You may find simply cleaning the ends of your interconnects and playing with speaker placement might give you a very inexpensive upgrade. The system you have already would be a step up for some. Happy listening! | |
| Jerry Garcia, A Legacy? In the early 1990s, Coleman was hanging out backstage, waiting to sit in with the much beloved and much detracted improvisational rock band, the Grateful Dead. Coleman didn't like what he was hearing. An admirer of Jerry Garcia's effervescent guit... | |
| Dave's Picks 23 Show times for above post:Total times:Jan 2 early 63:08 min.late 118:29 min.Jan 3 early 60:10 min.late 111:52 min. | |
| Dave's Picks 23 Probably not both nights in one release as there were early and late shows both nights-it would take 6 discs, and given the subscription nature of the releases (4 releases per year @ $100) , anything that size would mess up the numbers...Jan 2, 1... | |
| Who listens primarily to Redbook CD? One issue with cds relative to a copy perhaps sounding better may have to do with the computer drive reading the disc while it's being ripped having better error correction and/or simply reading the disc more accurately than the cd player the user... | |
| What are you using to rip your cds to a hard drive? Exact Audio Copy (EAC) is the best, and free. Foobar 2000 is also good. One unmentioned factor is to a) make sure the cd surface is clean-fingerprints and detritus will effect your laser’s ability to accurately read the disc and b) clean the laser... |
