Balance adjustment?
As I posted on another thread, sometimes moving speakers in ways that are 'non traditional' can make the difference between good and great.I can see the use of the balance control making this, too.Perhaps try to angle the speaker with no reflectin...
How big is the sweet spot for the vandersteen quatro wood CT speakers?
@miketuason ,If I were you, I would try moving the speakers. Sometimes the formulas don't work and placing where the 'rules' say no, may make a difference. If you can find a Vandy dealer nearby, or call Johnny at Audioconnection,  you'll get more i...

Bi Wiring for speakers question
@will62 ,If they look like a banana with saw teeth then I think they are called BFA banana plugs. I had them on some Transparent speaker cable and they were very brittle and prone to snapping.B
Best Speakers with a DNA-1?
+1 for CT.Buying used equipment can be fraught with problems, but buying something of recent production, and being able to visit the seller, help a lot in preventing unforeseen issues. Also, buying equipment from reliable manufacturers who offer up...
How big is the sweet spot for the vandersteen quatro wood CT speakers?
@OP, are you going to leave the amp on continuously?@miketuason ,If your 'sweetspot' is only 6 inches, I think you need to do some adjusting.Bob

Needing advice
I would go for a McCormack DNA-1. Steve McCormack still mods these amps and if you can find a broken one, they will put in a new chassis and mod to your wallets content. That being said, a used DNA-1, unmodded is below $1K.Can you connect an amp to...
How big is the sweet spot for the vandersteen quatro wood CT speakers?
+1 for Johnny R.I have no doubt you will have it set up properly. For me, with my challenging room. I find the 'sweet spot' fairly large and 2 people can listen easily. FWIW, I like to move around and am often out of the 'sweet spot'. I like it jus...

+1 Jetter! And, it seems Ralph did try to help you. Though maybe what you are asking is proprietary.B
which would you choose
For your Squeezebox, you could get a good quality DAC, like an Ayre Codex for a bit more than $1k, or a Schiit Bifrost Multibit for $400 (both used).Or, you can buy a Bluesound Node or Node 2.The Bluesound has a decent (not great DAC), but it is i...
Speaker Upgrade
OP, any thoughts?B
Component Placement
@elizabeth ,Though I like having short speaker cables, 6 inches is really too short, for me. I think anything under 4-5 feet is just as good. Also, remember that some amps get mighty hot (think tubes).B
Best Speakers with a DNA-1?
This is where I tend to disagree with CT.Though I understand his reticence regarding 'used speakers', I haven't had any issues buying used. (In fact, I bought his speakers). As I pointed out, buying a recent iteration is a good way to get the most...
