Hi Whart...is this the Tripp Lite unit you mentioned?http://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-IS1000-Isolation-Transformer/dp/B00006HPFITo clarify about what I was describing (hopefully this will be of value to BDP, too) ... it's not an audio related pump...

Hey BDP...again, good luck to you. You certainly got a good number of tips from the members to at least consider. I wanted to mention PorterPorts as another option for your outlets. I can’t swear these so-called "audiophile" grade outlets make a b...

Hello bdp. We did a renovation of an already finished basement that allowed installation of dedicated 20 amp lines for a music listening area. I suspect what we did is sort of a basic/minimum.  Were we building anew "from the studs", as it were, t...

Got Joanne Shaw Taylor playing.  White Sugar.  Couple of tracks in.  Liking it. Her playing is economical with good tone.  Somewhat understated (not necessarily a bad thing).  Her band is good too,  Tight.  Crisp.  Drummer's right on top of the be...

Bersarin Quartett III.  Call it Modern Composition or Dark Ambient...it has elements of both.  Moody and engaging with interesting sound textures. Melodic at times but not melody driven.  Highly atmospheric.  Works as background but rewards attent...

Hello again, Nutty.  Glad you enjoyed "Trouble Is".  I especially like Blue on Black (track 3).  You are right, Kenny was all of 18 when he recorded Ledbetter Heights.  Saw your note over on The Minority Report about Joanna Shaw Taylor.  Spotify h...

That should be 8 of 12 tracks.  How much of a contribution KWS made to the song writing seems to be a contentious issue (see above link).  (Pardon typos).

Looks like KWS "wrote or co-wrote" 8 or 12 tracks on his debut but apparently a Corey Sterling did lead vocals. This is makes for an interesting read on th subject of Mr. Sterling as well as KWS' song writing credits.http://www.thegearpage.net/boa...

Back again, N.  OK, so I found Tin Machine (1st album) on Spotify.  I had heard about this when it came out but never listened.  Not much of a Bowie fan I guess.  Anyway gave it a listen...it's kinda tough to "hear".  A very hard edge to it...lot ...
Best cartridge/stylus under $80?
Thanks for posting your decision, Hockey.  Happens too infrequently that the OP will close the loop by posting about a problem resolution or purchase decision.  As timlub said, "glad that you're happy....".

Hey N - that's the great thing about Spotify (or Tidal, etc.)...the ability to check out so much different music.  The live "New Day Yesterday" (cover of a Jethro Tull song) is on Spotify.  Mind your spelling when searching for Ian, however...it i...

Hey Nutty...I will check her out. Also, saw your mention of "Tin Machine" over on your "What’s Playing....". Believe it or not, never heard that - ever. Will have to check it out on Spotify. For me right now, listening to Crowded House (been a lon...
Creating space between interconnects & keeping cables off the floor
Hi mross - I like your clothes pin idea.  I wonder if you might benefit by incorporating some rubber bands so as to make a double headed spacer.  Use a rubber band or two to hold the overlapping "legs" of two clothes pins together.  This would pro...
