high frequency intermittent noise
LTE is an evolution of GSM. It uses a combination of TDMA and FDMA. The various high speed pulses are the individual data packets broadcast in the data windows. Their intensity is the product of the frequency their transmitted on and how well tune...
PADIS vs Furutech fuses
Uh oh... Looks like me pointing out the stupidity of somebody's argument hurt their fragile ego. As soon as I see people who play electrified instruments and record them going full-on retarded about fuses I'll give it a second look. Until then.......

@hifiman5 How about you look it up instead of just making it up. You're talking about a few picofarad per foot. The mechanism that drives cap break-in is that the feet or yards of thin conductor actually move around and the dielectric seats around...
PADIS vs Furutech fuses
That's the most ass-backwards comparison I've ever read. It makes so sense at all. A fuse and a violin have about as much in common as rocks and clouds. I've NEVER heard of Eddie Van Halen, Eric Clapton, Geddy Lee, John Myong talking about how the...
high frequency intermittent noise
I'm virtually 100% certain that's cell phone signal interference. That is exactly what an LTE signal sounds like when it's being picked up by an unshielded/under-shielded wire in the signal path. I doubt it's being picked up through the power line...
Jm Labs / Focal Port Foam
Focal used to supply foam bungs to stuff in the ports to knock down the bass response if you planned on sticking the speakers next to a wall or in a cabinet. Any kind of close cell foam will work. You could probably roll up some egg crate foam and...

No expectations whatsoever is.... Expectation bias? You have no idea what you're talking about.
Opening a can of worms
Expectation bias? I built some cables and it never once crossed my mind that some magic hocus pocus might change the sound, and over time I compared them with another old set I had and there was NO difference, and that's expectation bias? A) Not s...

@hifiman5 Sorry, but I simply don't believe it. I've recapped gear and you're not hearing fresh caps form on an hour by hour basis. It just doesn't happen like that. Anything going on in a cable is going to be much more subtle than that. I've buil...

Why buy new cables when you can buy these! From Geoff's website:"Codename Blue Meanies operates via mind matter-interaction. The subconscious mind interacts with room boundaries, i.e., closed-in spaces, producing a claustrophobic reaction that inte...

@geoffkait You'd know better than me with all you're audio Scientology and morphic fields.

The problem cable burn in believers have is ZERO evidence. The evidence suggests it’s snake oil.
Soundstage and explosive dynamics?
@shadorne A LOT has changed in 40 years. Pretty much all you see in touring acts these days is Meyer, Nexo, and Funktion One. Nobody is building their own gear.
Audiophiles should learn from people who created audio
I'll try to work on that. Sorry for the uncertainty.

@hifiman5 Nobody ages steaks until they rot. Wine goes corked all the time. A lot of things have an optimal aging period, but forever is never it. I think this cable burn in jazz is pure snake oil. I've never heard it. Caps breaking in is extremel...
