Do you Bi-Wire, if you can?
Geph0007, couldn't get that url to work. Is this what you mean? http://www.nordost.com/downloads/NorseJumperinstructions.pdfThe Nordost diagonal biwire. I use this method with a single cable run. I believe there is a difference in sound.
Just ordered Gallo Classico 3 Speakers today
many thanks. I've been reading reviews, how far in from the front wall do you find is optimum for bass? And did you buy online? I see there's a return policy.

Schubert, this sounds like an incredible speaker for the dollar. Since you listen to jazz and classical, I'd like your impression on the highs; are they smooth or extended? How are the mids at reproducing strings and horns, and do the Classico's pr...
Revel F206 power needs/Amp??
Musical Fidelity makes nice gear and from what I read about the A5, it's got power into 4 ohms and it has a phono section.I think it would suit your needs nicely...one area of caution is to find out the history of the unit; how old it is, how hard...
Revel F206 power needs/Amp??
I agree with Tom. Although the Revel's impedance is rated at 8 ohms, it's impedance curve frequently drops below indicating this speaker should have an amp with some power. That and the 88dB sensitivity would not make a good match for the Rotel RA...
Dynaudio or Ohm?
Thanks Joe, and to everybody. You've been straight-shooters and I have no worries now. After I've paid off my large real estate tax, I'll get out the charge card and contact Ohm.
Dynaudio or Ohm?
Zd, that is very true; I think it was mentioned early on. I feel that my electronics are up to the task. I've worked on creating a low noise floor with a Blue Circle Thingee FX2 PC, Blue Circle Power line filters, Furman PC, Audience PowerChords, ...
Dynaudio or Ohm?
Martykl, the fact that your Ohm's SQ can compete with your collection of such fine speakers says a lot. (btw, I believe Merlins use Dynaudio drivers). It's also good to hear another recommendation for listening to orchestral music on the Ohms. I'...
Dynaudio or Ohm?
Thanks for offering your experiences, Joefish. The Ohms probably make your room sound bigger than it's physical size.I like your description, similar to Mapman's. That's interesting that the distance of the image changes with low volume.I'm very g...
Dynaudio or Ohm?
Thanks, Kbuzz. That's good to hear.
Upgrade phono cable for new Project DC Carbon TT?
And yes, you can attach a ground wire from a metal part on your tt to a ground on your preamp; attaching the ground wire to different parts of the TT have better or worse results as far as eliminating buzz.
Upgrade phono cable for new Project DC Carbon TT?
You need to use an IC with a low capacitance. You can use an IC and attach a ground cable from your tt to a ground on your preamp, but sonic results will vary if the capacitance is not a match. Blue Jeans Cable sells ICs for TTs.The Ortofon Blue 2...
Hear sibilance on Krall, Famous Blue, D. Fagen?
I'm suggesting a variation of Al's cable troubleshooting by going right to the source. Even though you own a middle of the road CDP, I've seen good reviews.
Hear sibilance on Krall, Famous Blue, D. Fagen?
(Zd, he has a system page). For the hell of it, try playing the CD thru the Music Hall CD 25.2 CDP only. Your M1 may have a superior DAC and clock, but jitter may be introduced thru the path of the cable.
