Walker Prelude Step 4 rinse-Somewhat mixed results
Johnny, I've had only positive or occasionally neutral results using the Step 4 Final Rise as compared to the same LPs using Prelude and just the ultraPure water rinses. I've never had a negative effect. On the two LPs you had a negative result, d...
Can we go back to 33's please?
Nicely described, Mike. Agree totally..
Best wood for an isolation platform
Mattcone, I use the Walker Audio amp stands made from 3" rock maple butcher block and I've been very pleased with the result. They are mounted on Walker Audio Valid Points screwed into the maple butcher block. You can come close to replicating th...
Are contact treatments worth the money?
No harm, Bicycle_man. We can certainly agree to disagree for there is much room in this hobby to differ. I agree that experimentation is important as we seek to improve the enjoyment we get from our respective systems. Sharing actual experiences i...
Can we go back to 33's please?
Regarding some comments on the 45 rpm RCA classical reissues, I continue of the opinion that the Classic Records 45rpm reissues are vastly superior to the originals (that I've been able to hear) and superior to any of the 33 rpm reissues. Not to o...
Can we go back to 33's please?
We've had, and will continue to have, a lot of 33rpm reissues: Speakers Corner, Classic Records, Analogue Productions, Pure Pleasure... All have done and will be doing 33rpm reissues. The 45rpm reissues are a special treasure. For most of us, thes...
Are contact treatments worth the money?
Bicycle_man, no retailer or manufacturer has chimed into this thread. Only various of us who use the products in question..
OJC LP Reissues???
The OJC issues are mostly "flat transfers" from second generation tapes. As a result, the sound has not been mucked around with very much and they typically they sound pretty good. Until recently they've also been pretty inexpensive. In my experie...
Are contact treatments worth the money?
For those who may be interested in actually "listening" and determining for yourself whether a contact enhancer can make a meaningful difference in your system, the solution is fairly simple. Walker Audio offers a full satisfaction guarantee on th...
analog newbie question
You won't damage the cartridge. At the MC setting on the phono stage, the phono stage is supplying more gain to the signal as it delivers that signal to the rest of your system. This has no back effect on the cartridge..
Are contact treatments worth the money?
I consider the Walker Audio Extreme-SST contact enhancer an integral and necessary part of my system. I use it on all contacts and had my electrician use it on all the electrical connections for the dedicated AC lines coming into the listening roo...
The Rite of Spring
If one enjoys the Davis performance of the Rite, it's well worth also hearing the Tilson-Thomas/BSO performance. So many good performances, all pulling different information and emotions from the score. For raw power and energy, I always enjoy the...

JMW9 setup tracking problems... need help
Viridian and Sanji have stated the likely solution for you. Watch the twist on the phono wire. I heard the Denon 103R playing just fine on a friend's Scoutmaster a few years ago. No problems at all. So, I'm confident you can find a solution with t...
