Anyone use CD tweaks
Human urine wiped off with a lint free microfiber cloth is the only way to go.Jones4music (Threads | Answers)Asparagus, or no asparagus?
Daedalus
Another thing a speaker needs to do to "disappear" is recreate a soundfield wherein the speakers do not cue your ear as to their location. This my DA-1.1's do very well but are not in the same league as the best I've heard in this regard. Dodgeal...
Review: Sony SCD-XA5400ES CD Player
Tube output devices can euphonize the sound but can not deliver the complexity and agility of a well done SS player.Dave_b (System | Reviews | Threads | Answers)Bssed on my experience with digital players built with tube output stages, I disagree....
Sophia II's and Pass Labs etc
No, I have no way of auditioning Andra II, and I'd be purchasing them used rather than new.I intend to keep the XA-60.5, so I'll be looking for other speaker alternatives with higher sensitivity specs. Daedalus models are under consideration.
Sophia II's and Pass Labs etc
Peterayer, you do believe XA-60.5 amps would have enough power to successfully drive Eggleston Andra II loudspeakers? My instincts tell me no, and comments from other Andra II owners suggest not, but I'd be interested in your opinion.
Equipment failure with Dakiom tweaks?
They've made a sonic difference in my system, but not one I have favored. They have never caused any problem with my equipment.

Clueless Analog Newbie, Looking to Buy
True, but a lot of people start there.Srwooten (System | Reviews | Threads | Answers)I understand. I'm not arguing that point. I'm simply pointing out that few audiophiles, if any end up there, and to believe that a $300 investment in an analog fr...

Clueless Analog Newbie, Looking to Buy
Nobody on Audiogon who gets into vinyl stops at Costco towels, a spray bottle of cleaning fluid and a $2 Magic Eraser.Or a $161.78 turntable.Imagine the absurdity of paying $40/ea for new records to play on a $161.78 turntable.Let's not kid oursel...

If you don't like the AT table, you'll get most of it back by selling it here on the 'gon. Nrenter (System | Threads | Answers)Really? Based on what evidence?I don't see a large demand for cheap turntables among the users on Audiogon. Even the hi...
Unison SE or LSA Standard?
04-22-09: MalborJust because Lsa headquarters are in the USA, doesn't mean it's going too sound better than the Unison SE.Did I write that in my post? No, I didn't. Be careful about reading more into what's written than what's on the page.My hunch...

My father is an audiophile...who claims buying one of these cheaper tables isn’t really worth the investment.Knotgreen (Threads)Listen to him. Here's what will happen. You'll buy an inexpensive table and cartridge. You'll buy cleaning materials and...

Would you pay to audition speakers
If he is in such economic trouble (or so fed up with looky loos) that he is charging $500 to audition speakers, then his door will soon have a sign that reads, "Going Out of Business".
