Tidal have you heard them? Are they your favs?
I believe the Piano Diacera are the model being demonstrated at RMAF 2010. The info was left out of my post above.
XLR & RCA, which is better for Esoteric DV-60?
I own an Esoteric UX-3Pi. The XLR outputs are preferable to me because the dynamics are better, IMO.Is it simply because the XLR outputs are 6dB louder than the RA outputs? Could be, but I think there's more involved than higher gain.
Tidal have you heard them? Are they your favs?
I heard them Friday at RMAF and thought they sounded quite good. They are able to reproduce treble in a manner that gets the detail an clarity of the music without sounding over emphasized and bright, which I found to be an issue with 90% of the o...

10-16-10: Muralman1Tvad, I happen to have heard the very latest Pass amps and preamps and my statement stands. Thanks for sharing.
solid state vs tubes
10-14-10: MapmanCan anybody tell me a pair of speakers that sounds the same well with either tube or SS amplification?I know that some Silverline Sonata III owners drive them with tubes, and other owners drive them with solid state. For me, tube a...
solid state vs tubes
It seems that Nelson Pass, for one, has always tried to make SS amps that can perform like tube amps...are they indistinguisable from tube amps? Well, there are alot of Pass/First Watt owners out there that might be able to add their 2 cents on th...
Changed Speaker Placement NOW BOOMY
10-13-10: ThegoldenearTvad I am looking at it as we speak, I may try this, this sounds good.Thegoldenear, the idea is to use the Sumiko method to see if you can get the speakers (beginning with the right hand speaker) into a position that sounds g...
Changed Speaker Placement NOW BOOMY
The Sumiko method will guide you to a position for the speakers that optimizes bass response (the basis for the method), and it will eliminate any guesswork about whether or not you have them dialed in.It's worth spending the time to do it, IMO.
from Zu Druids to....
The importance of corners for the AN speakers cannot be overstated. Corners are crucial to proper bass extension, balance and control. There is at least one other Audiogon member I'm aware of who ultimately gave up on Audio Note speakers because h...
Changed Speaker Placement NOW BOOMY
Use the Sumiko Speaker Set (or Iron Chef speaker set) method and you will likely eliminate the bass issue.Costs nothing but your time.
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever?
THE SHOW is where Ralph sets up shop, as does Brian Cheney (VMPS), Audio Note, and a few other notables.Clio09 (System | Reviews | Threads | Answers | This Thread)Atma-Sphere and Audio Note will both be at RMAF with their full blown set-ups accord...
from Zu Druids to....
I am an AN-SPe/HE owner, and someone who has heard the Druids for several extended listening sessions. I think your idea of listening to the Audio Note speakers is a good one. There's a definite difference between the house sound of Zu Audio and A...
PASS LABS XA-30.5 vs XA-60.5
10-12-10: Honest1Roor - I think the key to all of these posts that seem to disagree with you are the words like "...given a friendly pair of speakers...", "...given speakers that can be driven properly by..." Perhaps your speakers are a difficult ...
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever?
Not sure I've hear an argument yet as to why a direct connection is not "the" standard for assessing the sound of a recording from a particular CDP as a source, to me it seems absolutely is the standard of what a recording sounds like unadulerate ...
PASS LABS XA-30.5 vs XA-60.5
I've talked with other Pass dealers who hear the same improvements I noted above, within various systems. I also did a/b shootout with several audiophile friends listening and we all came to the same conclusion without question. The 60.5's are bet...
