Which is more efficient and requires less power?
Thanks guys. I suspected the answer would not be easy.
Power Cords on a $1000 budget what would you do?
I agree with the suggestions to spend the $1000 on a better component, but if I've learned anything on Audiogon, it's to give 'em what they want...not what they need. What you want is power cords. I've already made my suggestion there. What you need...
Von Schweikert VR-4 Gen III & Tyler Linbrook Sig's
I own the VR4 Gen III HSE and love them. I'd welcome the opportunity to hear them side by side with the Tyler Linbrook Signature System. The VR4 Gen III HSE go down to 16hz vs. the 25hz of the Linbrook Signature, if that makes any difference to you...
L. Armstrong, glue prob, Complete Hot 5 and Hot 7

Power Cords on a $1000 budget what would you do?
I would buy one used or new Purist Audio Dominus Ferrox 15a power cord for ~$900, and buy two Volex 17604 at ~$11.00/two including shipping. Experiment with placement of the Purist cord. The Dominus cord should produce benefits, and the Volex cord...
What price do you put on your gear?
Driver, it's good to hear the challenge you faced passed without significant consequence. It's amazing how these things put life into perspective.IMO, the stereo is not sacrosanct. It's enjoyable, but everything is for sale at the right price.
I think it is time to retire
I didn't accuse Jjmali of being mean spirited. I said his topic was mean spirited. There is a difference. Furthermore, if someone posts on an internet forum, then the post is open for debate...supportive and critical. Let me put a different light ...

If I may be so bold as to suggest, if you really want to enjoy real dialog with forum participants stop setting up rediculous good v bad situations in which you intend to be a 'moderator' and utlimately win the debating contest by implementing you...
