marantz 8801 vs. nad T175HD
Dave,XT-32 is at the top of the Audyssey MultEQ chain.  SubEQ is an added bonus where you can EQ two subs independently. If you have HT bypass on your preamp, then I would opt for the Marantz over the NAD because of the added features and better Au...
marantz 8801 vs. nad T175HD
If Audyssey MultEQ XT-32(with Sub EQ) are of most importance, then the Marantz 8801 is the way to go.  Many bells and whistles and from what I have read/heard, great(for a pre/pro) with stereo music. On the other hand, I have been more than very pl...
Supporting Amp/Preamp for Klipsch KLF 20's ?
An integrated amp is a preamp/amplifier built into one chassis.  Usually of higher quality than a stereo receiver and without a radio tuner.  Some have built-in DACs.Take a look at an NAD C375BEE.  Plenty of gusto to drive your 20's and within you...
Supporting Amp/Preamp for Klipsch KLF 20's ?
Robert,Are you interested in an integrated amp?  How much $$$ do you want to spend?Bill
Supporting Amp/Preamp for Klipsch KLF 20's ?
" Greetings to everyone and Merry Christmas."And the same to you.You own yourself a very revealing, some would say accurate, loud playing pair of speakers.  They are beasts that really like to stretch their legs with "quality" amplification that ...
Yamaha A-S3000 - any experiences?
" I would say the biggest weakness of the 2000 is the bass extension."Can you elaborate a bit on this?  I have found that my A-S1000 has great punch and extension but I am only driving large bookshelf speakers(Klipsch RB-75's) and have not hooked ...
Yamaha? Welcome back!
"Hows the bass/low end?"I can’t speak for the A-S3000 but I can sure tell you that the A-S1000 has bass drive in spades.  Punchy, fast and detailed.Bill
Please show me how to listen to hi-rez audio embedded in films
I see your Bel Canto does not have analog pass-thru so I am not sure it can be done at all.  There may be a work around but I can't give you an honest answer to that.Bill
Need help with Integrated vs preamp/amp
I for one am a big fan of Acurus amps and have owned at twelve of them.  All have been rock solid with no issues at all and I find them very musical(not warm but neutral), punchy bass/midbass, and very detailed.  On the other hand, the NAD 375BEE ...
NAD c 565bee- marantz 600? Equilavent
If the NAD C565BEE is at least as nice sounding as the C542(my guess it is), then that is the route I would go if you are opting to not go the budget route.  An outboard DAC feature is another plus for the NAD.Bill
NAD c 565bee- marantz 600? Equilavent
So I am guessing your budget is around $150.00.  I have owned many $150.00(used and new) players and quite a few $1000.00(used and new) and up players and the one I have owned the longest and has sounded the best is my 10 year old NAD C542($499.00...
totem/nad denon
I just looked at the rear of the Denon 2100 and it only has Zone 2 stereo preouts so combining it with the NAD 356BEE might not be possible.  I'll let others chime in on that subject.Bill
totem/nad denon
Though I have never owned any Totem speakers, the NAD integrated will reign over the Denon AVR for stereo music, period.  Many AVR's, especially flagship models, try to be all things to all people but fall short in the 2-channel music department. ...
Yamaha? Welcome back!
As far as build goes, these newish integrateds are tanks with all discreet components.  I personally can't compare to DSP-1 because of no experience.Bill
Yamaha? Welcome back!
"I always thought deep-pockets Yamaha could beat any audio maker at anything if the really wanted to .Surely must have the greatest engineering talent and more cash than anyone else in this field ."  You got that right.  Unlimited resources($$$)...
