why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable
We all have a twisted sense of the word fun in one way, shape or form i suspect :-) and I'd also guess we are all sufficiently wound up for another day at this point!Overall though, great dialogue all...there is no right or wrong or taking sides r...
With $20,000 in your hand, what speaker would you
Dave_b: FUNNY, and also very true!
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable
I never felt the need to buy the most expensive cables just because they were that, quite to the contrary over the last 20 years, and still today. I've been through more than 10 brands that I can remember from entry level to the best my ears could...
£15k $22k to spend on speakers...but which?
"A rich man has about the same chance of entering audio nirvana as a camel has of passing through the eye of a needle. ..."Great stuff,....very funny!!!On the speaker choice,...from what I've heard on that list, you may wish to re-target your list...

Audioqest Wild Wood or Tara Lab Omega Gold?
If you have separate negative and positive runs for speaker cables (typical of Tara The ONE, 0.8 and possibly later models,...one of the features I rather liked when I owned my Tara products), you definitely have to sum the wires by gauge and coun...
Isotek
Glad to hear you've made progress with this and that you've found a way to remove the issues for the moment. How does this combination sound?

Audioqest Wild Wood or Tara Lab Omega Gold?
Audiolabryrinth: "AWG" refers to "American Wire Gauge", a standard unit of measure for a single piece of "wire". When someone lists something of the form 6+ AWG, it is probably meant to imply the wire is more than 6 gauge (and probably less than 7...
the crystal method vinyl box set
Definitely...wish I had a turntable to be able to enjoy what must be jaw-dropping sonics from the vinyl editions. The DVDA and CD versions are impressive but I can only imagine how good they sound on vinyl....
Audioqest Wild Wood or Tara Lab Omega Gold?
Audiolabryrinth....I did not make any reference that I recall to 6+awg wire/effective gauge of cables on this thread.
Audioqest Wild Wood or Tara Lab Omega Gold?
If someone/Tara or Dealer is willing to send me a pair of each (or one at at time) already broken in reasonably without some huge financial outlay to do a very targeted in-home test, I'd love to try them and hear all that you love and respect abou...
Audioqest Wild Wood or Tara Lab Omega Gold?
Labyrinth:"...the Omega gold speaker cable's do sound natural, audioquest does not make a cable to this caliber of performance..."It's one thing to strongly prefer another brand and model of cables but I feel your attempt at a definitive statement...
best transparent pre amp
Extremely transparent pre-amp: Esoteric C02; very happy with this preamp in my system as it gives that transparency, top to bottom frequency accuracy, sound-staging, etc...and so much more. I believe there is one up here selling used from someone ...
The best CD Player for the money
Sounds like one hell of a setup....a friend of mine has modified JBLs with his ribbon and interconnect technology inserted in place of the OEM innards and the results are amazing!
